Casting for TV reality show, including Legacy build - Legit!

Hi guys- You may recall that I hosted a reality show pilot last fall. Well, it's going to series and I'm the host, so we're looking for two things: First, we need 96 contestants who are willing to take four days to build a car for competition (you see why rally people are involved, right?) near the ...

OK - first, my legacy is my legacy and has nothing to do with the show - it's just my side project in the background. In the show, you get 3 days and $15K CDN to spend on the car. We work with the teams in the weeks before the show to order all the parts they think they want. And we're working on re...

How much are the actual lights and where can I get them?

NOTE I am as we speak drafting what I'm guessing the two teams of mechanics will do to two early Legacies in the build. Get your names into the audition!

Jen's a doll. Mark at DMS was helpful as always but I ended up just with the WRX setup with DMS top adapters at the rear. I'd do a set of DMS if I could but all that truly fancy stuff goes to the rally car. Yeah - rallycrosses maybe. Also I'm writing the supplied pacenotes for a rally in a few weeks...

OK - You're going a little hot for my own build - I don't want to buy STI injectors and a FMIC setup if I can avoid it. Keep the advice coming guys. As for getting on the show they are really looking for people. See the link above and you will find the email address to send your interest too. Oh, OK...

OK - give me your wish list

I've trolled around here, but i want you experts to weigh in. Here's the premise: I'm hosting a TV series on car modifications http://www.canada.com/entertainment/features/warofthewheels/index.html First we're doing Neons, then Golfs, then 240SX, but I'm hoping to do a Legacy episode...or possibly I...

Yeesh. Remember that your oilpan isn't just an empty bowl - there's an oil pickup, baffles, and at the extreme your cranksaft in there. If you've damaged it consider having it off to inspect it.

Anyone know what one of these looks like? Is it at all substantial?

Keep it coming!

Wait, are you saying that the crossmember has to be swapped but it's not to clear the downpipe? Why then?

And the LS front swaybar's no good?

Anyone on the cable vs. hydraulic clutch question?

Yeah - my LS has an open 4.11. I gather that to use the LSD I'll have to open them both up, swap the LSD into the 4.11, and reshim? Both cars have ABS. Only the LS has adjustable speed on the intermittent wipers! How is the crossmember different? Do I have to swap it? And do you mean the full suspen...

And no har har "the second car is better but with a lousy trans". I'm looking for details. Right down to chassis differences, etc. Here's what I've spotted so far, from the front: -larger front chin bumper -larger rad and fans -turbo, manifold, exhaust, intake, and turbo ancillaries -intak...

I saw this info in the thread about your HO alternator, Legacy777. But i just wanted to make sure about the "leave it disconnected" advice. Looking at the wiring diagram, the "turn on lead" is fused at 15A to the ignition switch, hits the coil, and a diode. I have no idea what it...

Alternator - 3 pin to 2 pin

I think I found a thread where vrg3 dealt with this but I want to make sure: When you install a later Sube 2-wire alternator, you connect the two pin black/white to the old harness black/white, the other pin to the old harness thick-guage white, and the car's yellow wire you leave unattached to the ...

Ah - found them. What in that system typically fails? The solenoid?

And what does failure imply? No bypass of pressure past the turbo?

I knew you or ciper or someone would come through fast!

In Haynes it says ambient air temp sensor but I can't find one! Where should I be looking. I know you'll know in like, 3 seconds.

Oil level is fine - first thing I checked. And the only way the timing could be off is if the belt slipped a tooth, right? Is there a marker on the cam pulley for TDC?

Yeah - I'm wondering if the leak and the noise may be unrelated.

But I've had sticky lifters before. This is a bigger noise I think. Real clackity-clackity and engine squirming around like it's running on 3cyl. But that last thing could be spark loss, too....? Exhaust is not smoky.

OK - cover coming off as soon as I can get the gaskets. Who do I go to for supply? Anyone know the part numbers? Passenger side is what I mean by right hand. Right hand as you're sitting in the car. I tend not to use "passenger side" as fully half of the rally cars that I work with are RHD...
