Re: Tyler's 1992 Legacy Turbo EJ207

I picked up a 9K Rotary lift on Saturday. Hoping to have it installed in a week or two. I have an electrician coming tomorrow to add some 120V and 240V outlets to the garage.

Legacy777 wrote: Thu Apr 06, 2023 5:31 pm How did the GD fuel tank fit? Does everything line up?
The fuel tank isn't fully in. Just bolted up to the shell. I did compare the tanks and lines and everything should work the same. Some of the evap stuff obviously will not work but I plan on removing all of that anyway.

Re: Tyler's 1992 Legacy Turbo EJ207

My friend and I worked on the car a little. I plan on moving garages so the car needs to be a roller. We put the GD fuel tank along with the whole rear end from my WRX in. With some wheels the rear will be a roller. The new garage has high ceilings so I am in the market for a lift which will make th...

Not on the ground yet. Lost motivation after getting the harness back. The WRX will be leaving the garage soon so I'll have room to start getting the Legacy back together.

Re: Tyler's 1992 Legacy Turbo EJ207

My friend and I put the wiring harness back into the Legacy. For the most part it's pretty straight forward but some of the wiring under the dash still needs to be done. My friend is going to bring her 91 Turbo over so I can see how her wiring is ran. I have ordered a bunch of parts for the fuel sys...

Re: Tyler's 1992 Legacy Turbo EJ207

August 30 Some friends and I removed the rear sub frame, fuel tank, engine and transmission this weekend. We first drained as much fuel as possible. Made it a lot easier to drop the tank. Everything came out pretty smooth considering we had to raise the car up a few inches with a forklift to pull th...

I did some work on the WRX yesterday. Removed the radiator and got the clutch master and slave off. I am just waiting on a friend for the pedals assembly for the Legacy. Then I can mount up the master. Its been so hot and it's like an oven in the garage so work has been slow. https://live.staticflic...

Valve cover gaskets, spark plugs. Maybe the fuel line recall under the manifold. Check the oil cooler gasket to see if it's leaking. Reseal the oil pan. Take off the green brackets of death.

Tyler's 1992 Legacy Turbo EJ207

I'm Tyler and this will be the story of swapping a 207 and 6 speed into a 1992 Legacy Turbo. The Legacy has around 82k original miles on the auto and EJ22T. I plan on taking the V9 207 and V7 6 speed from my 2005 WRX and putting them in the Legacy. I am taking the whole WRX mechanically and swapping...

Alright. Once I get all the parts into the car I will measure what length driveshaft I need. In my GD WRX currently is a DSS Aluminum for a 6 Speed. I was hoping to reuse that on the Legacy.

Re: 6spd Swap Details Thread

Hi, I will be installing a 6 speed into my 92 soon but have some questions. I am using GD subframes and an R180 rear diff. Will my 04 STi driveshaft work with the 6 speed and R180 in the car? Someone told me I would need to extend the driveshaft by 2.5 inches. I don't understand why I would need to ...

I am now back home for the next few months. I have been "saving" cars for buyers that did not show up so they are all for sale again. Prices range from $500 to $800 each. All are located 25 milers north of Scranton PA. Hey, I PM'd you about the black 91 SS. Very interested and I can pick ...

This is a great write up. I've rebuilt many 4 piston calipers and it's the same process. Sometimes it's harder with the 4 pots because the pistons are seized. Overall you did a great job and the write up is amazing.

I took the car today to get inspected. All they check is emissions and I failed! Everything passed except idle emissions. I was so close to passing. I'm going to put some seafoam and injector cleaner in and hopefully it will pass.

Re: New Car Three Codes

I have 4/2 pots on my WRX for winter and the Speedlines are designed to fit over them. Pretty much any 15 inch rally oriented wheel is made to fit over those brakes. Speedlines, Team Dynamics, Compomotive are the major brands people run.

freakin sweet find! Those rims are rad. Are those an old team dynamics? cant tell from the pic. I think your attack plan sounds like the winning ticket. assuming everything else is in order, that should fix your problems and make your car run waaaay better. Thanks! The wheels are Speedline 2118's. ...

I just picked up a 1992 Legacy Sport Automatic with 71k miles on it! Beautiful car with one tiny spot of rust. The car has three codes, 21,24,35. They are for the water temp sensor, canister purge control solenoid, and air control valve. I'm doing the valve cover gaskets and spark plugs and wire thi...

Re: GD STi Pink Suspension

For the front, I'm not sure what year arms I am getting. On my 2005 WRX I have the STi aluminum control arms with my stock front sway bar so I know that fits. I might get an ALK for the car so that will add more caster anyways. For the rear, I got the lateral links with the separate sway bar boxes a...
