Re: Electrical glitch w/ video and pics - 1994, EJ22, Non-Tu

Sounds like you have the green and black ecm check wires connected. They are the ones down by the steering column they should be disconnect unless you are checking codes. That will cause the clicking of solenoids and fans to cycle off and on.

Did you replace the thermostat with a genuine Subaru thermostat? Most aftermarket ones will not open and overheat.

Re: The wife just said her gas pedal stuck a few times

I would suspect the cable, mine has been sticking for awhile now and have a replacement cable but haven't replaced it yet. But only sticks at idle. It will hang up and my rpm will be around 1200 but if I blip my throttle it will unstick.

Re: drivetrain noise, please help!

It sounds like the throw out bearing, was it replaced when the clutch was replaced?
(Edit)
I listened to it again and it sounds deeper than that, it is speed dependent like a shaft bearing, or diff bearing.

Re: Differences between NA / Turbo radiator (beside filler c

If you need to buy a new radiator anyway I would look in to a gt radiator with a thicker core, it fits the n/a opening and has more cooling. I have a new oem one going in my car when I do the motor swap.

Re: ABS question

It reset it self every time you turn the car off. Are you using first gen sensors or second gen sensors? Are the used ones that you replaced where they rusted in? I found that the rust will crush the sensor and short it out internally, that's why I've been using second gen sensors because they are p...

Welcome,
94 2.2 are noninterferance so it shouldn't have bent any valves. Is it an auto? If so check the flex plate bolts to see if they backed off.

N14 cummins, and a eatons 10 speed but will be changing it out for a 13 speed or a 15 speed. I need to have a lower 1st gear so I can crawl at about .5 mph so I don't burn up my clutch when I'm getting a load of mill. (The machine that cuts the road for resurfacing and make it level). I believe all ...

I sure hope I work more than 10 days this summer. I want this equipment to pay for it self this year and learning more about the mechanics how everything works. One thing I'm amazed about is parts aren't as expensive as I thought they would be. I just replaced brakes on my belly dump and the shoes w...

So much snow!! We never seen hardly any snow this year. Didn't even get the snowblower out because we never received more than 6 inches. My grass is already greening up and the leaves are starting to pop out and the lakes have no ice. I pretty much destroyed my studs this year.

Road construction is my new gig, I bought a tractor, belly dump, and a side dump. Only worked 10 days last year paving and the pay is good. Auto body and paint is my trained profession and have done it for years but only a few show quality cars. To do some of these cars it takes a lot of time and mo...

Re: Rust

Welcome, yes that is the best option and when you cut it out make sure you dig out the factory seam sealer as it soaks up moisture. That is the cause of the rust in these cars in the rear quarters and to keep it from coming back use epoxy primer to seal it up.

Re: dankberries 1993 Legacy SS

The last 2.5D I rebuilt was balanced and it is a lot smoother than factory. At a light you can't even feel it run and no harmonic vibrations at any rpm. All the 2.5D that I've seen are shakers at idle but smooth out off idle.

Great tech article. Great pics too. I am about to do a clutch and thought I'd pull the tranny rather than the motor. I assumed the tranny had less stuff connected to it. But after seeing this, I think I'm going to pull the motor. However, changing the shift bushings is on my list for sure. If you s...

Re: Need tips on Legacy rust repair

First, how long are you going to keep the car? The best thing is to cut the rust out and section a clean piece in. You can get do good by sand blasting or acid bath the area, using epoxy primer to seal it up. Then use marine-tec to fill the hole witch is an epoxy. So what I'm saying is clean the rus...

Re: Engine mounts

eBay is a good place, look up for WRX and if you have a 5 speed you can get the transmission mount also. This made a huge difference in the way my car felt, doesn't feel like a noodle when I hit the gas.
