Re: ABS Fault Code 16

The plug that goes in to car harness is almost the same, the ears to line the plug up are on the wrong side. I was going to put my old ends on it but it was easier to file the ears off and it plugged right in. I replaced one because the wire was broke off and just dangling, but the other side I had ...

I pulled my el header to install mine. When I installed my sisters fsb, just a factory one, I believe I dropped her exhaust also.

Re: ABS Fault Code 16

I fought with mine for years and finally fixed it when I replaced both of my rusted in speed sensors with second gen speed sensors. Both my 90 and 92 have abs and was able to swap parts back and forth until I found the issue. I don't know why the computer points to the G-sensor. Also used second gen...

No cats on my car but it does smell like my Cuda, raw fuel. Still getting 28 mpg with less back pressure and I like the extra rumble that the el headers and flow master produce.

Re: How is the quality of your Delta Cams

My 2.2 cams were flawless, but when they regrind those they don't weld them to make the new profile , they just take it off the base circle on 2.2 cams. But they have no choice on the 2.5d cams and need to be welded to achieve the higher lift and duration, mainly due to not having rockers and the ca...

How is the quality of your Delta Cams

Every one that has a set how was the quality? I'm really interested to see the quality of the 2.5d cams, which I know that a hand full of people run them on different builds. I've used delta regrinds for years, several hundred over the years working at a machine shop with out a quality issue. All th...

Re: 4.44 and rear diff swap

The pinion yoke can be swapped off your old diff and toqued to 150 lbs (I believe) and that's good. The axels you need are from 95-99 legacy outback to match up with our hubs and plugs in to the newer diff.

Re: my tranny set up.

You can swap the rear pieces off the two drivelines if you can't find the right yoke for the diff. The u joints are replaceable the part# 430-10 but needs to be done at a driveline shop. I have one in my car and it's greasable, I hope that helps you.

Re: Magnet on your oil pan

Most bearings are a tri metal (steel, copper, and nickel) if you get down to the steel you have problems, and shows up real quick on a magnet. With metal to metal contact you will get wear and that produces small partials of metal that floats around and hopefully the filter catches it if it's big en...

Subaru makes a oil plug with a magnet in it. I've had them for years in addition to a (filter mag) on my oil filter. They work!!! http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m504/rallyak/Mobile%20Uploads/921068F9-6C79-44AE-9146-DD15779A74D7_zpsfuxodiof.jpg Here's an EBAY link: http://m.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-...

Re: Oil, regular vs synthetic?Lucas oil treatment for synthe

I run mobile 1 and the Lucas oil treatment for years, but I still change my oil every 3000 miles. All of my engines have very high mileage and my wife's car with 431k still doesn't burn a drop of oil between oil changes and the engine is the original, but this is my lowest mileage engine in my drive...

Re: HVAC removal

Pulling the HVAC controller is not hard and should take you about 1hr, the first time is a learning experience. 1) pull the front bezel off around the radio. 2) remove the instrument surround trim, ( dropping the steering column makes it easer, but not required) 3) remove the 4 screws and pull the u...

It your IAC (Idle air control) and most of the time it just needs cleaned. It's located on the passengers side (right side) of the intake. It will have two small hoses connected to it and a larger hose (about 1 inch in diameter) that goes to the plastic intake tube. Also it will have a electrical pl...

Re: Is this for sure a bad headgasket?

You have water in the spark plug holes, just blow them out with compressed air I'm sure all will be good. At start up you have some smoke and clears up, is valve seals are not sealing properly, but I wouldn't worry about that.

I have ss brakes on my fronts and H6 in the rears on my 90 abs wagon and feels pretty good. I upgraded because of the heavy loads I have, It's a delivery vehicle that sees around 500-800 lbs daily. Empty is very predictable and the abs works great, it stops quicker than my wife's 92 wagon on ice.

This is what I've been looking at for mine:

If you want to go with bigger tires you will be limited with the stock struts as the spring perches is what the tire will hit.

Let us know, mines been running rich also same year and changed almost everything O2,coolant sensor, injectors, a known good TB with factory set sensor and still at cruising 13.0 reading from the wide band gauge. WOT it drops to 10.0, it would go lower if the gauge went lower.

That's common for that adaptor to fail, I've replaced mine a few times. That will throw a code for vss and your cruise control won't work.

Re: HVAC controls not working all the time

If it's only the A/C that is not working correctly I would check the joints, but if the A/C randomly goes off and on I would suspect the thermo switch.
