The best (cheap) BOV/BPV on the planet is the oem Mitsubishi Eclipse (1gen). I picked on of these up @ my local j/y with all of the intercooler hose + the boost solenoid for $10. I then crushed it & am currently using it on the LSS (FMIC). I made an adapter that allows the large outlet of this b...

I'm a little late, but a cheap solution for additional fuel for boost that kicks the FMU's butt is the addtional injector. Use your stock injectors with a very low - no FMU ramp-up, & use the 5th injector to add the fuel you need. I installed & tune one of these systems on my buddies rotory(...

AIC Issue?

I have a '94 L-SS that is suffering from an unstable idle (750-500RPMs) when warm. Vacuum decreased from 19inHG to 15inHG & I thought I had a decrease of compression in 1 CYL (#2 from 180-160psi). The car runs perfectly as soon as I step on the gas & will hold a steady idle if I give it a bi...

Naa, Based on the tranny code TY752VB3FA, the tranny (& motor it was attached to?) came from a 1995 wrx / or wrx-sti. I was told it was out of a '95 WRX so that jives. When I saw the intercooler I suspected exactly what you said, but the tranny code & newness of all of the hardware on the mo...

AWIC / Heat exchanger / Pump

I just received a ej20g GC8 swap, that came with an air to water intercooler setup instead of the slanty i/c that it should have come with. I have a front mount so i have no real use for this, but it includes the acutal AWIC/expansion tank, & the heat exchanger / pump for the setup. I'm not sure...

I did pull out that hex plug, I tried to push the pin under the hex plug to try to remove the clutch fork but it did not move.
I was afraid to thread anything in because I thought I may damage something.

Separating a Turbo 5spd tranny from an EJ20

I just recieved a JDM ej20/5spd tranny, & ran into problems I never before experianced while trying to seperate the tranny from the motor. On N/A Subaru tranny's I have removed all bellhousing bolts & just fought to seperate the engine from the tranny (stubborn/bonded together). Once I manag...

I did the coffee-cup (2.5"-3" muffler pipe reducer with welded on fittings) / desnork (4"PVC pipe feeding from the fenderwell) / K&N panel filter mod on a bone stock LSS auto & gained 07hp & 10ftlbs of TQ vs. the baseline on my g-tech pro. 0-60 times also decreased by .53 ...

The Vf11 does not use a snap-ring, but the td05's do. I was gonna port my 16g before I installed it, but my motor died so I did'nt have a chance. The Tdo5 14-b (ported & very fast spooling) I have on my Impreza has the snap ring your talking about but it comes off quickly with snap-ring pliers. ...

I think the Vf11 is very limited in terms of maximum output, but I think porting should have positive effects on both spool-up & backpressure/EGT.
For folks wanting to run low boost this should help to expand the powerband a bit.

Ported VF11

Has anyone tried porting the turbine inlet of the factory VF11 turbo? It seems undersized compared to the up-pipe outlet (1- 3/4" vs 2-1/8")?
I did this on the stock tdo5 on my Galant Vr4 & had very good results (from 2" to 2.5" inlet).
If yes was it worth the trouble?

A dozen splices + 4 wires does not sound bad at all.
When considering ej20g's are there any I should stay away from?
I would like a closed deck block, but that would probably mean an older mechanicals & electronics.

Will an automatic ej20g ecu be able to communicate with a ej22t tcu? Can an ej20G TCU control the ss's 4eat? Will I have to minipulate factory signals with an E-manage or something of that sort to keep the tcu happy & maximize the 20g's potential? What is required to get the ej20g running off of...

OK - so the EJ20G is more plug & play with the SS, but what has to be done in order to convert the ignition system to coil on plug, & get the EJ20G ECU to run the car? Are there any forseeable problems, or considerations that will have to be made when doing this conversion in an automatic SS...

I initially thought the problem could be a vacuum leak, but abandoned this thought once I tested the compression, a vacuum leak should not have had any effect on compression. I have seen the EJ20G's for lower prices than the Ej20K's which makes them attractive, but the Ej20K looks more plug & pl...

I have not tried the oil trick yet, but I also thought the boost(vf11) was a little low to kill this engine. I did hit boost cut a couple of time while setting my FCD, but I thought boost cut was designed to protect the motor, not kill it. I was going to squirt a little oil in the grumpy cylinder ov...
