Re: 2005 WRX Parts for 93 Turbo Wagon

Taking on this same project within the next few months. Need to save and find / gather parts. Only difference I've considered is using a perfect power 6 or 8 or a standalone. I want to be able to run a couple of different maps. Eventually I would want to install an AWIC. Anybody have experience with...

Re: 2005 WRX Parts for 93 Turbo Wagon

Small extensions needed and adjustment of hangers notwithstanding, does the 2002 - 2007 WRX exhaust fit without having to dent, ding, or change underbody / chassis components?

Re: 2005 WRX Parts for 93 Turbo Wagon

So you installed a wrx turbo back exhaust. How did that fit? Any mods to make the downpipe fit? Which exhaust did you install, factory?

Re: Board's opinion on a car I'm buying...

I think some sanding and POR15 on the little rust spots should fix my problem on the exterior until I can give it a proper paint job. Then reinstalling widshield, back window, and sunroof with new seals might take care of leaks. If there's any rust in frames of any of these repair at.the time of res...

Re: Hypothetical question about handling dynamics.

On corners with rapid turn in or a fast change of direction, the weight could trail loading the tires/suspension very inconsistently and make it hard to control. Inconsistency of suspension load. Good point. All the more to convince me that it's a bad idea. I imagine that anything that upsets the b...

Re: Hypothetical question about handling dynamics.

The interesting part about this idea though is that body roll would not (necessarily) be the cause of the weight transfer. The car could possibly remain level throughout the turn, and yet, weight would still transfer to the rear outside corner. I'm sure, however, that the weight transfer would quick...

Re: Hypothetical question about handling dynamics.

Sounds interesting, wish I could answer -- but thinking about what you propose it does sound like it'd be fun to try :) Would be easier to break the tail end loose, at the very least... This is what I thought the answer might be. In other words, great for drifting if the suspension was set up corre...

Re: Board's opinion on a car I'm buying...

Nothing worth posting. The "corrosion" on the fuel door is just a dark spot, and is not rust colored. I'm not sure what it is exactly, and am not sure what to do about it. Has anybody seen this on their car, and if so, how did you fix it.? I'm hoping some wet sanding and polishing can take...

Hypothetical question about handling dynamics.

What would be the effect on handling, from the perspective of autocrossing, if weight quickly transferred to the outside rear tire in turns? Would the quick weight transfer help or hurt cornering performance? Obviously, more weight on the outside rear tire might mean less weight on the inside front ...

Re: How does the 4EAT's "manual" function work?

You know , it almost sounds as if the manual feature might be useful for autocrossing. Many times I will see people start off in second gear to begin their run, because first gear will allow more wheelspin while taking off and leaving the car unsettled going into the first corner. By putting the shi...

Re: How does the 4EAT's "manual" function work?

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I knew about the feature that is discussed in the link you posted, but wasn't sure if manual did anything else besides that. Now I know. Thanks again. I guess if I'm planning to thrash the auto box I better get the transmission cooler, the auxiliary trans filter, and...

How does the 4EAT's "manual" function work?

Purchasing a 1993 Subaru Legacy Sport Sedan with 4EAT. I would prefer the manual, but will not have neither the time nor the money to attempt a manual swap just yet. I have autocross events locally, in which I would like to participate. I was wondering how I could use the "manual" function...

Has anybody on here had these leaks / rust repairs on their own car? How did they end up fixing it? How much was it?

BTW, thanks to all of you for your help.

Has anybody had the same sort of rust problem? How was it fixed? How much did it cost? Did the repair last, or did it come back again? If so, how quickly?

Board's opinion on a car I'm buying...

I have put a deposit on a car, which is a 1993 Subaru Legacy Sport Sedan Automatic with roughly 119,000 miles. Selling price is $1,500.00. The interior looks like new and everything works except two things. The Drivers side automatic seatbelt is stuck in the open position, and the radio does not wor...

I'd be interested in a carbon version of the hood. I would prefer the stock scoop, but would consider a different scoop as well. I would not be interested in the scoopless version.

Re: 2002 - 2007 WRX wagon seats in a First Gen Legacy Wagon?

I'll take that as a yes then. 2002 - 2007 Impreza seats, including those in the WRX and WRX STI will fit, with no modifications, into a first generation (1989 - 1994) Subaru Legacy Wagon. I'm planning a purchase, so I wanted to be sure.

Re: 2002 - 2007 WRX wagon seats in a First Gen Legacy Wagon?

Thank you for the warm welcome. The threads I searched mentioned the sedan seats. I was wondering if it would be the same for the wagon. I guess I would have to have the carpet in the rear cargo area redone no matter what. Thanks for the prompt replies.
