Re: Mister Anderson's 91 Legacy SS STi-RA 5 speed
It's been 364 days since my last update. The car has not left the shop since the beginning of last summer. I have been too busy to finish it. I did have some issues with the header wrap catching on fire from oil. I changed the oil and when I took the filter off I dumped oil all over the wrap. I thou...

If you can't find one check eBay.co.uk. That's where I bought one of mine from. just make sure the seller will ship worldwide, and also shipping is somewhat expensive.

Re: 25d valve train upgrades
-When I built my EJ25D heads I used SuperTech STi fitment double springs. I had to machine the spring seats down in order to drop the seat pressure from 100PSI to 75PSI. Super Tech didn't make any "off the shelf" seats so I bought the thickest ones to mill down at home. SuperTech should be...

I use Motul in the transmission, and the rear-end with the Subarus. I'm also running it in my Camry that has around 300k miles.

Awesome videos dude! I really want to auto-x my car when I'm finished with it this summer. I have a STi-RA 5 speed trans /DCCD with the plated rear end so it should be a blast.

Re: Newest 5MT with a speedo sensor?
I have used Cardone axles on my Legacies and my 1990 Toyota Camry with good results. I find getting re-manufactured axles are better than the new Chinese axles. The reason being is quality control, and you have a higher chance of getting an OEM axle back (you will on occasion get a Chinese core rema...

By the time I got there, the parking lights are on full time regardless of how the switch is set on the stalk. Well, palm on forehead. Forgot until I had a "Eureka!" moment that when the parking light switch on the top of the steering column is on, the parking lights will be on no matter ...

Re: Flooding issue
It could be the ECU, but unlikely. I've never seen one go bad, and that's even with my 40 year old VW bus ECU. The injector itself might be shorted (closed circuit), or the resistance of the injector has dropped enough to add just enough more flow to flood out the cylinder while driving. I would tak...

lol right. Just to add to this old thread since it got bumped. My air-cooled VW bus will have a cap similar to that during winter after I run the engine for a hour or so.

Just ran the numbers on a 5MT DCCD. Its 2mph faster in first, just 1mph slower than the RA I wanted, and the rest of the gears are just as close together. Gear, Stock 5MT, PPG 5MT, RA 5MT, 6MT, 4.44 5MT w/DCCD 1st: 18, 21, 21, 19, 20 2nd: 33, 35, 32, 29, 29 3rd: 48, 50, 42, 39, 39 4th: 67, 68, 57, ...

Re: Mister Anderson's 91 Legacy SS (UPDATE STI-RA 5 speed)
the JDM TD04 fits betterish than the USDM the early TD04's have the hard 90 inlet right? I was thinking about calling Blouch to see if they could sell me one of their 16/18G turbos with a hard 90. I have all the stuff for the under intake inlet style, but I really don't want to make custom fuel lin...

I thought about a JDM TD04 since the car will now be used for auto-x, but I'm looking at a blouch 16G, or a 18. This project has been going for way too long lol. I picked up a AWIC the other week, and bought a GC8 slanty for the sedan from Mike. Silencer PM'ed me about a AWIC shortly after I bought ...

Those Kelford 272 cams sure make a difference in the upper RPM range. I still have the VF11 on, and it does not like my engine. I'm going from 6PSI down to 2.5-3 PSI by the time I hit the stock redline. This summer I'll put the other turbo on, and get it tuned.

Thanks for posting! I've used a 02-05 on my sedan, but when I installed a V1 STi intake on my wagon the IAC is problematic with the 02-05 intercooler.

thought I would add that my V.4 R180 (not R160) clutch pack LSD has STi regular inner-cv joints/studs. I bought mine new from the dealer, they are for an early 2004 STi. The only difference between the later years is number of balls in the DOJ. Early has 6 balls, while the later has 8. My build thre...

I've seen a lot of 5-speed DCCD's pop up for sale. They are usually snagged up really quickly. Czei, what legacy are you rallying? Where at? I run a 1991 Legacy Turbo in the Rally America series (teamCONTEracing) I wasn't planning on buying one, but the opportunity arouse so ended up getting it.
