Re: Easiest downpipe to replace rustty stock one
WRX downpipes still require extending the mid-pipe to reach the flange; they're a little shorter than the Legacy ones. But that's all you should have to do besides adding a bung for your O2 sensor.

Re: The SLODRIVE '92 SS Build (Now w/ STANDALONE ECU INSTALL
Thanks all. I had to do a touch of re-wiring, notes below: -To get a rising voltage signal from the TPS (which the Haltech needs), simply reverse the power and ground wires. I didn't know that! -Be VERY careful when using the Subaru wiring diagrams and ECU pinouts. I mistakenly used a JDM diagram wh...

Re: The SLODRIVE '92 SS Build (Now w/ STANDALONE ECU INSTALL
Oh Shit!!! You are gonna beat me with the install....mine is going in on October 13th. I'm going to do it at Harvey's shop. I would love to get the stock IAC to work...let me know how that goes. Heh, I'll more than likely be there to help you anyway! I'm pretty sure the IAC is going to work, we'll ...

Re: The SLODRIVE '92 SS Build (Now w/ STANDALONE ECU INSTALL
Alright...I'm really not happy with my current setup. The Z4 ECU is just too messed up to make me happy. Even though a lot of things have smoothed out compared to running the EJ22T ECU, things just aren't right, even with the piggyback, which is doing its job just fine. Being that my car isn't what ...

Did you check/repair your TPS wiring yet, or check the connections where your AVC-R is wired to the ECU? If you remember, it wasn't giving any readings through Evoscan.

The vintage racing/Dan Gurney poster and the Shinoda print are keepers for sure (Is that Gurney's autograph on there???). I'd have those hanging on the garage wall for sure. The other ones - Meh, not old enough for that!

Wow, I really like the look of that Legacy. The Rothmans stripes on the door look pretty damn cool too.

I used a pillar gauge pod for a '02-'07 WRX/STi, it fits fine with a touch of trimming, there's photos in my Build Journal. I have also seen people use GC Impreza pods, they appear to fit even better.

Re: The SLODRIVE '92 SS Build (Now w/Upgraded Driveline!)
Reporting back after a day of driving/adjusting... First, the lousy news...The MAP circuit on my new ECM appears to be dead. :x The A/Fs are fine cruising around, but as soon as the engine went into boost, things went really lean right away. In addition, a quick Evoscan log showed that it wasn't pul...

Re: The SLODRIVE '92 SS Build (Now w/Upgraded Driveline!)
Nope, I'm converting my ECU patch harness so I can run wasted spark and keep my single coil pack. Here you can see my patch harness with 2 ignitor harnesses properly wired in as per PhyrraM's fantastic how-to thread here . The large black harness goes to my F/IC piggyback; the small black harness co...

Re: The SLODRIVE '92 SS Build (Now w/Upgraded Driveline!)
Almost a month later, and the new transmission works great. It's really noisy on the interstate because 5th gear is so low, but so far my gas mileage has stayed the same. However, the car doesn't want to pass emissions this year, even though nothing has changed. :? Maybe that little convertor isn't ...

Welcome to the BBS!
You'll quickly find that this site is nothing like NASIOC. The "Subaru norm" doesn't exist here, the members run all kinds of engine swaps and have gone quite a few different ways in engine management. I'd love to see a thread about your car.

I wonder if you have one or more leaky injectors. How do the rest of the plugs look? And how's your gas mileage?

Re: EJ20G "RobTune" Info
You can add me to the list of people converting to the 20G ECU. I recently scored a Z4 ECU, I already have a JECS MAF sitting around, and I'm going to pick up another igniter or an SVX igniter to install it as a wasted spark system, thanks to all who researched it out. 8) Once I get it all sorted ou...

Re: Why not to run an atmospheric BOV on a Legacy
isnt that what all blow offs do? Supposed to relieve boost once throttle plate closes? That's exactly what a properly adjusted BOV should do. An atmospheric BOV will cause a *momentary* rich spike when it releases, but that's all that should happen. There's tons of WRXs and STis around here running...

Mmmm nice!
I'm going to add, look out for hard/brittle wiring and hoses in the engine compartment, especially near the turbo. That can be a real headache when you're fiddling around under the hood.

Re: Question about AEM No Weld O2 Sensor bung kit
If it does leak, it's kind of a big deal -- it can throw off your wideband readings, That said, have you had experience with one of these kits leaking, SLODRIVE? Honestly, I've never used one. I find it's really easy, quick and cheap to just weld a bung in the proper place, on top of the downpipe i...

Re: Question about AEM No Weld O2 Sensor bung kit
If you don’t mind it leaking, and if you don't want to mount your sensor near the top of the downpipe, I'm sure it'll be fine.
Seriously, just take your DP and have a muffler shop (or any welder) and have a bung installed.

Re: Bizarre Hydrolocked my Engine.
One more thing, did the car start at all before it locked up? If it only stopped the starter from turning rather than stopping a motor trying to run, you probably didn't bend anything. If that piston looks the same as the others through the spark plug holes, then you might as well check/change the i...
