I'm back for an update! First, the status update...this motor's been fantastic for the last several seasons of driving. Plenty of power at 16-ish psi, 90+ lbs. of oil pressure cold, and 21-25 mpg with my foot on the floor - a lot. And then last weekend, 5th gear apparently shit out its synchro...it ...

ALL, and I mean ALL U.S. market STi's came with 2.5l engines. The only 2.0 turbo motor Subaru sold here was in the WRX's.

Yep. It looks like my transmission lost 5th gear at only 297,000 miles. I'll take it apart and fix it if I have to, but I'd rather pick up a working unit if there's one around for the right price. Lemme know!

We pulled the spark plugs and they were clean. Pulled the plug wires out of the coil and cranked it over, we got a weak yellow signal on all of the wires. DON'T bother going for the repair waiver. A Turbo Legacy, even a modded one, should pass emissions with little trouble if it's running properly, which it sounds like it isn't. I always found the TPS specification, and in fact MOST automotive resistance specs, to be more of a guideline than anything concrete. I gotta say though - Your shoulder harness mounts are pretty scary, the mounts are waaaaaay too far down . Other than that, everything looks really good! Great score on the 6MT too!

If he doesn't have an oil gauge he can watch the temperature of the engine. If its stock it has an engine coolant gauge. Hmmm so SLODRIVE you have your leggy running with a 20G ECU and the AEM F/IC. Very nice! Did you run this AEM F/IC with the stock EJ22T ecu ever?
