FS SIX Forester 16x6.5 steel wheels with caps. California

I have six ~MY05 Forester 16x6.5 steelies. Four have no tires, one has a new tire and one had a bent lip that I hammered out (useful for a spare). They are in decent shape. A few blemishes but a wire wheel and silver spray paint could make them perfect. Looks like these http://upload.wikimedia.org/w...

Re: Downpipe questions

I dont think reducing the size after the downpipe is as much of a restriction as you'd think. By then the exhaust gasses have lost a significant amount of heat so the velocity is much lower.

WTB grey flocked interior wagon parts in good condition

As the title says I'm looking for flocked interior parts. I need the rears from a wagon but the fronts can obviously be from either model

I don't think that is rod knock. Its either man bearings (unlikely) or a collapsed hydraulic lifter.

Re: Will a fwd sedan auto tranny fit a fwd wagon?

The axles pull right out of all 4EAT and 6 speed transmissions. Only the five speed has stubs that are "permanently" held in place.

Re: Changing ignition selector.

Seemed related - The lock cylinder in the drivers door often shears off its pivot arm causing the key to spin freely. If this happens get a donor cylinder and rekey it. It's much easier than it sounds. Just swap the little metal spring loaded "doors" that come into contact with the key edg...

Re: timing belt tensioner: new vs old style

If you have a choice between the two new styles try not to get the one with the small pulley. They constantly fail because they are spinning twice as fast and the bearings are also much smaller (think skateboard bearings) If you don't have a vice and need to compress the tensioner you can use a pair...

Re: only 5 lbs of boost now whats causing it edit code 41

So why does the light blink on other Subarus when an issue is taking place? I've noticed my car running with 5psi boost about 5% of the time since "fixing" it. I'd like that to be 0% of the time but its sure hard to troubleshoot when there is no indication of what causes it. I am going to ...

Re: Pontiac Vibe front rotors the same as Legacy Turbo rear?

Nice. 120.47013 seems to be the best priced turbo rotor.

I was wrong about the rotors. They are not the same and I was caught by the typo which is listed on many application guides.

Re: post face lift/ pre face lift ?

The earlier cars have headlights with an angled top, so the lower edge of the hood is not straight. http://www.aia.tartu.ee/~indrek/ralli/subaru/legacy/legacy_4wd_turbo_jyv1990_alen.jpg The later sedans have a goofy edge on the bumper in the attempt to change the look of the tail lights. Re: Turbo Inlet 90 Elbow No Longer Available

Also, when the fitting for the blowoff valve tore, I just put a piece of 1" heater hose over the outside of it. It worked well enough that I called it a permanent fix. My turbo to throttle body pipe cracked on the turbo side. I cut 2/3 inch off the end to stop the crack. I then cut 2 inches of...

Someone found an inexpensive round bushing that could be used to fix up the rear links. If I remember correctly you need eight of them and 4 had to be shortened by 3mm. They were yellow polyurethane

Look at the "Cherry bomb" glass packs. They are an inexpensive straight tube that could easily be welded into the midpipe section. They take up much less space than a resonator. http://www.cherrybomb.com/Catalog/Categories/glasspack_4_body_straight_tubes.aspx I know someone who used part n...

My favorite body style in my second favorite color. How much are you willing to spend on the 2.2 block? I know of one that would be sold for the right price (bare block halves).

Would you like to do me a favor? I'd like a set of EU headlights if you see any for a decent price.

Re: only 5 lbs of boost now whats causing it edit code 41

Maybe we should ask the robtune guy. I know he never finished working on it but he did get the US Legacy Turbo rom partially reverse engineered. This safety issue is not designed properly in my mind. I bet there are LOTS of Legacy turbos running around with no check engine light and only running 5ps...
