I aplaud your efforts -K- (\golf clap\) and look foward to some tuning results. I want to get my T-Leggy tuned as well, but was thinking a UNI-Chip tuned on a local dyno, but this is a possiblity (though uni-chips are cheap) as it would allow more tuning for larger injectors etc.... I think the VF11...

so how MUCH boost does your shinny new gauge say you are running? different than you thought.... I need to order a different boost gauge, as my VDO makes the MOST annoying rattle at certain throttle positions (right at vac/boost threshhold) how much for the Autometer? $50? BTW, I have the same "...

Cusco F STB install notes...

So I picked up a new Cusco front strut tower bar last week. Model# 660540A (for the GC8 chassis). Install was fine and dandy until I went to close the hood   . Fortunately I was skepticle of fitment so I closed the hood slowly... The bar hit the hood skelleton (supports) inbound and the a...

ok, so I found it!! yeah it comes into the dash area from the drivers kick panel. Mine was stuffed up toward the firewall - so I couldn't find it anywhere near the audio leads. yippie - AM is back!! (we have the best college comercial free station here - 1190am - check it out online - radio1190.org ...

antennae lead location?...

..under the dash that is Went in to install my new Alpine HU (and remove the old alpine HU and FM modulator from the old cd changer) only to find no antennae lead under the dash!! I had no AM, and only a few FM stations before - and now I know why  My question is: what is the antennae routing?...

Passed Emissions!!!!

I finally got around to having the emissions done on my '93 SS this Saturday. I was a little woried about the full CES TBE (cated) exhaust as we have fairly tight standards here in the extended Denver metro area. But anyhow, I turned the MBC down so boost was being controlled by the wastegate pressu...

connected the MBC to the compressor nipple - much smoother, especially in transition from part throttle to full throttle (no sudden 16+psi charge rushing into the intake spider)

my part throttle response is better as well, i.e. it's not so touchy, which gives better driveability.

Thanks!

yup, it's just open. I was wondering where the light coating of oil was coming from that is in that area.... now I know  I'll probably will connect the compressor nipple straight to the wastegate actuator too - sounds like a good idea for curbing excessive emmisions (although I'm curious to se...

Thanks vrg3. yup, here in CO we have tight emission standards and the tests are conducted on 4wd dyno's that mimic driving (0~50mph). so that nipple IS something!! right now it is actually open  (so essentially I have a 1/16" hole for boost to leak from? - great  ) I will rec...

MBC hook up ?

So, my '93 SS 5spd came with a MBC already in place. It reads from the manifold (post TB, passenger side) as connected now. I've been reading up on the PTFB conditions/hesitation/high egt and how it is related (partialy) to the way the MBC is connected. I am also getting weird hesitation-acceleratio...

I just got back from a trip from CO to NM and was finally able to get some Hwy mpg... on the way down (more hills) running 78-83mph or so I saw 23.5mpg. But on the way home - in the middle of NM, on fairly flat roads, running 70-75 or (with a nice sprint to 110  ) I received an awesome 27mp...

 was just thinking out loud.... No real correlation between the driving lights and Yellowstars. Just made me think of possiblities. And yeah, the yellowstars would be fine high beams I 'spose - I've only used them as fogs (H3's) in the past so I'm not sure how it would perform as low/high beams...

ok, so it is NOT ok :? :x I drove down to New Mexico for the holiday and guess what... the high beams will just come on! both the high and low beams were on, and I couldn't get it to switch back to just low independently (I could turn the lows off, but the highs were still on). I didn't have a meter...

ok, so I am an idiot. The disconnected red lead just threw me off I guess (that's my only explanation) :) I checked the output at the connector in High/Low/Off and all is working right (with about 11.6v, hmmm relay harness next...). I put everything back to stock and it seamed to work fine - lows an...

ok, so the connector is set up as you described. Yellow on top Red/Blue on right, and the Red is disconnected (but was on the left). Apart from the percieved pattern change, which I agree is not likely (or really possible for that matter).... it appeared as though BOTH elements would light up if I e...

I'm going to pick her up from the mechanic tonight (60kmi T-belt service :)) and I'll inverstigate.

Thanks for the input.

I'll reconnect the red wires again and pay more attention to the outcome :) But from what I saw yesterday, when I hook the red back up the low beam shoots high and scattered and the high beam fills in underneath... and I think it altered the __/ pattern. I reassembled it (with no red wire) due to th...

My strange headlight wiring...

Ok, so I was poking around my newly acquired '93 SS to find why I had no high beams. I find that the connector has been altered by the previous owner and now i am trying to figure out what was done.... The RED (high beam) connector has been removed from the H4 tri-socket. The other 2 (yellow/blue an...

16.6@82 is pretty good for Bandi. what was the temp? My '98 Legacy 2.5GT ran a best of 16.8@82, and that was with full header/cat/exh./ intake/ pulleys and launching as well as the clutch would allow (5spd obviously) The GT's gone now, but I will be picking up a turbo Leg before spring (hopefully). ...

yeah, I was rethinking that after I posted my pie-in-the-sky benchracing numbers - haha (and my current clutch situation has me thinking like a fwd owner - lame) so yup, a 97-99 trap should be a high 13. I'd shoot for a mid 14 first I think (intercooler/BC/turboback), then a bigger turbo and tuning ...

Thanks! also a 16.6@82 in 90+ weather with an auto is great up here, I saw an auto wrx run a 16.6 too (in cooler weather, ~80) but had a bit better trap IIRC (proabably due to cooler temps). anyhow, I seems that an intercooler/BC (12psi)/exhaust/downpipe would yield a ~14.7@93+ - adding a bigger tur...

So, I have been looking for a 5spd leg turbo of and on for a while now but some of these times have me wondering... Gzmo (or somehting like that, sorry) - ran a 16.6@82.2 at Bandi, my 5spd '98 Leg ran a 16.8@81.75 at Bandi(although it was 65F when I ran, and 92F when he ran... so that will make a Hu...
