Re: 95 L 22ecu run 22T?
Oops! Forgot about that detail. Derp. Edited thread title. Have any insight as to how a 22e ecu can run a boosted 22e successfully but will not run a 22t block very well? I'm not married to the idea by any means. At a glance the 22e and 22t sensors look identical. Ill have to check the parts catalog...

Re: hesitation issues
My hesitation issue was also very troublesome to track down. I replaced the injectors, installed a Walbro 255 lph, fixed multiple vacuum leaks, replaced the coil pack, used a boost leak tester I built and fixed every boost leak, this all helped a little. Finally I replaced the MAF and I was golden!

95 L 22ecu run 22T?
I'm currently building a 22T w/ .020 os Wisecos, stock 22t crank, and STi rods to swap into my 95 L wagon. Block soon to be decked and bored. My goal is a 205/22T hybrid with a vf39 or equivalent and will use 02 wrx ecu for em. I have 205 heads with upgraded springs, tleg xmember, 02 wrx complete ha...

Re: 91 Legacy SS Turbo hesitating, misfiring and overheating
My 93 SS was hesitating and overheating. Turns out the head gaskets blew, I had multiple vacuum/boost leaks, the injectors were bad, the fuel pump was dying, crappy plugs and wires, and the MAF was dirty/dyng. After simply replacing everything it now runs like a beast. I'd start by checking for vacu...

Re: GC8 STi control arms on 95 L?
I agreed to get the front control assemblies and I asked the seller if he ever comes across the rears. He said he had the complete rear assemblies off of the same car and threw them on the shipping pallet. :) Unfortunately the rears are not two pots but will still be a massive upgrade over the crapp...

Re: GC8 STi control arms on 95 L?
I'm pretty set on purchasing them. I've heard the only problem is the sway bar endlink. The GC8 control arm endlink mount angles on a 45 degree while the stock goes straight up. But I'm sure it's possible to make it work.

Re: GC8 STi control arms on 95 L?
Backing plates? Are those the dust shields? I have looked at USDM WRX upgrades where they remove the dust shields to get the setup to fit.

Re: GC8 STi control arms on 95 L?
Great! Thanks for the quick response. Even if the GC8 arms aren't necessary, will they be an upgrade over the L arms? One reason I would by the package is that it would be around $750 which isn't much more than ordering the front calipers new from flatirons tuning and I would get low mileage knuckle...

GC8 STi control arms on 95 L?
Not a first gen question so I apologize. I want to swap 4/2 pots on my 95 L before installing a 22T/205 w/STi rods & .020 Wisecos. Will JDM Subaru WRX STi Ver-6 GC8 control arms w/knuckles be a direct swap? I currently have 16" WRX wheels and planning on using 5mm spacers until I get a nice ...

You have lots of junkyards up there. Any manual pedals from an old n/a leggy should work right?

Re: TD04 and 05' TMIC
Do you need a steel or aluminum coupler to join the silicone elbow to the OEM turbo inlet elbow? Or do you just stuff the silicone 90 into the OEM turbo inlet elbow?

Great write up! I have a spare 22T block and I am still figuring out what direction I will go with it.
What factored into your decision to grind the crank as opposed to machining the block? A lot of stroker builds I have come across machine the block and not the crank. Thanks.

Re: 20G head swap questions.
Thanks everyone for their responses. I have changed my plans and am keeping my wife's SS 22T stock aside from a TD04 and the XT tmic. I'll have to research what year the XT tmic is. I am now working on figuring out what to do with my spare 22T block that I want to swap into the 95 L. I'm doing a lot...

Re: SS refuses to accelerate, fees like it misfires too?
Update: The TD04 sale fell through since the seller blew his turbo so he decided to keep the TD04 he promised me. The SS is holding up nicely to say the least. I raced my wife off the line tonight and she smoked every car at the light. She was driving the SS of course. I can't help but feel a bit je...

Re: SS refuses to accelerate, fees like it misfires too?
Thanks Josh! I had no idea the car could perform so well. I gave the car back to my wife to test drive and she was screaming she was so happy! The power mode is awesome. If you go WOT if revs up to 5k before shifts. The nose of the car raises and you can feel so much torque it is mind blowing. I can...

Re: SS refuses to accelerate, fees like it misfires too?
Thanks for the offers on the MAFs guys. But I came across a Touring Wagon at the scrapyard today and luckily it still had the MAF (no engine). I also took the bcs, aps, etc. off it for later. Great news!!! I cleaned and installed the new MAF and the SS runs PERFECTLY! No misfire, or put put problem ...

Re: SS refuses to accelerate, fees like it misfires too?
I received my replacement BPV today. I'll install it this Saturday hopefully. Questions: Is it possible that my MAF might be failing and causing the problem? I'll clean it with MAF cleaner as soon as I can. EDIT: I was looking in the FSM parts catalog and the MAFs of the MT and the Turbo share the s...
