Wow. Those metal scuff plates are ultra rare. I spent a few years searching and couldn't ever find any.

If you are running a manual transmission I don't think it should be an issue having nothing connected to B48.20.

Re: dankberries 1993 Legacy SS **MAJOR UPDATE! 01/2017**
Updates? unfortunately not yet.. I've been exponentially consumed in other projects and work. I'm a little sad about it but I'm also enjoying my other cars. I now own a 1982 Brat, I'm installing Toyota solid front and rear axles and an ej22t. I've got a 1997 Impreza OBS, 1993 Impreza sedan, my 1993...

Re: Dankberries 1993 Impreza ej23t/25d build
April 2017 The Impreza started loosing oil pressure. Found metal in the oil and proceeded for a rebuild. During the tare down of the motor I discovered 4 oil pump rotor plate screws had backed out substantially. I believe the Motor met it's fate to loosing pressure at the pump(note: that was a new ...

Re: Subaru rear LSD types Discussion
see my edited comment. The WRX sedan and STI have widetrack, so ignore those cars & axles. You're making this more complicated than it has to be. :-D So grab 2nd gen Legacy axles, they bolt in to a WRX-compatible diff, and work with your hubs. Ok, lol .. Thanks man. I have a snow rally race at ...

Re: Subaru rear LSD types Discussion
All will work, and left and right are interchangeable. Splines are the same. There's a slight length difference between left and right for pretty much all rear subaru axles, not enough to cause bad things to happen. interesting... Some of my research is showing a 10mm difference. Thats for the 2nd ...

Re: Subaru rear LSD types Discussion
In order to get the right one with axles that are commonly available, you could order the diff that fits an 02-07 WRX, that is the type that 2nd gen Legacy axles fit. WRX sedan rear axles have the same spline count as the aforementioned legacy ones, but are different lengths. Can be made to fit if ...

Re: Subaru rear LSD types Discussion
As far as axles, most likely you'll have to use the newer style male-to-male axles (from a 2nd gen Legacy) Ok, so it seems the main issue of axles is different spline count and lengths. This might explain why Cusco lists different parts #'s for different years, I believe I saw 3 different #'s for t...

Re: Subaru rear LSD types Discussion
I have a few unanswered questions and I'm hoping some members might have answers. is it possible take an open r160 diff, for example 1993 impreza with 4.11fd, and put an LSD unit in ? Will the ring and pinion from an open diff attach correctly to an LSD? Or would the ring and pinion have to be from ...

Re: Mike-Tracy's New 92 SS
Question for those who have done a COP swap, do you have to plug anything in where the ignitor used to go? No. At this point you have eliminated any need for the ignitor. It's as simple as 4 signal wires to the ECU , one from each coil, ground each coil( I use the coil pack mounting bolt, ground wi...

Re: Mike-Tracy's New 92 SS
Anyone know what this plug under the dash goes to? I've got a good hunch that's why your not getting power, looking at the guage of a couple those wires , that's likely important ground/power wires. I don't have my legacy with me, it's at a shop getting fun things done, so it's hard to reference, b...

Re: Joe's 93 RHD Legacy Wagon Build
To hook up my fan I can use the B wire as ground, and the YR for power. That is correct. One thing that's also good to look at in FSM is pin placement on the connector, for example , on the fan connector it shows Ground at pin 1 and power at pin 3. Sometimes wire colors don't match up with the FSM ...
