Re: Lifting my 94 need input!!
The thing is, I actually found a set with lower miles than any of the 2nd OB struts I've found. 04 fxt struts and springs with like 40k on them for a little over 100 bucks. I just dunno what all I'll need to fit them.

Re: Lifting my 94 need input!!
I can't imagine a lift causing a RSB issue. Should work fine. But I guess I'll find out.
Anyone have insight on the 04 fxt struts???

Re: Lifting my 94 need input!!
No kidding? I hadn't heard that before. My car didn't actually come with a RSB but I bought one from Subaru_styles on here and installed it. I really would like a small lift though.

Re: Lifting my 94 need input!!
Can anyone out there with experience tell me what all I'd need in order to run 04 FXT struts and springs on my car? (93 L sedan) I assume the rear definitely will not bolt up. Will I need to order 93 top hats? Or are the top hats even going to fit? I did a brief search but didn't come up with a clea...

That's what I do too kimo. I degrease and spray it down with a good garden hose. Then its easy to see any leaks an where they originate from.

Re: New to subaru
I think with a leaky head gasket you'll most likely be able to visibly inspect the mating section between the heads and block? Also I smelled smoke after driving for awhile.

Re: Lifting my 94 need input!!
I didn't explain what I meant about wheel gap very well. I just thought that with a strut lift and body spacers, all that is being accomplished is wheel gap as the spacers reduce drivetrain clearance by pushing everything down. Some have said its okay to roll a small lift without too much CV damage ...

Re: Lifting my 94 need input!!
@diesel is it 100% necessary to do all the spacers if just going with stock height outback suspension? From my understanding that just keeps your ground clearance the same but creates wheel gap? I too am trying to lift my legacy.

Re: Random ground wire missing from my 99 forester. Any advi
I believe brat man is right. It is bolted to the passenger head. But mine was absent so I made a new one. Hahaha as for the hesitation, i did need a knock sensor but the motor is currently sitting in my garage getting an entire head gasket job and reseal. Huuuuuuge shout out to TD and his buddy Jaso...

Re: My Outback wheels! :D
Speezly I think whatever you have on your wrx wheels will fit. Should both be 16's. But I'm pretty sure I'm running a 205/55.
Put them on though. They look way good.

Re: Weird tapping sound only when lights are off
I grabbed a stethoscope an it sounds like its coming from the center of the block. Alternator was my first guess. But I guess I'll just see what happens. Hopefully it doesn't blow up!

Weird tapping sound only when lights are off
So I just noticed a weird tapping sound in my motor when I turned off my lights. It also goes away when cooling fans start up.
Its a 93 L. It doesn't make sense to me.

I figured I should buy one anyways. I'll buy one and if its still too darn long I'll cut that bad boy down to size.

I think you're right mike. The stand seems abnormably weird:/ I'll shop around for a good one that has shorter mounting points.

Re: Engine stand advice?
Haha yep! The separator plate is one of the reasons its comin out! Okay I'll have to look that up. I'd rather not work on an old tire again. Having an engine stand seems MUCH more convenient. I'll be careful with the torque converter. Autos are totally foreign to me. Any chance you remember any of t...

Engine stand advice?
I'll be needing to work on a motor coming up here soon. The last time I pulled my 2.2 the engine stand I borrowed would not bolt up to my motor. The bolts weren't long enough. Any advice? What are you guys out there using?
