Re: Manual pedal swap help.

when I did my swap I also was not able to all of the bolts to fit. I rocked it without that bolt for a while but the next time i had the peddles out I just notched that one hole over a bit and it fit just fine.

Re: Easy install front mount?

Thanks for the clarification Robert, iv never read that anywhere on here before. I am not currently trying to do this but if I was I would be stoked. When I did my old setup, since i had a newer style kit and i knew i had to do some welding/fab anyways I turned my FMIC upside down and ran the tubes ...

sounds about right, the slow engagement is from low line pressure, assuming your fluid level is ok

Well when you say it like that then I see why no one has done it. I just get excited when I see something new and different and I tend not to pay attention to logic.

Re: EJ22 block and heads with EG33 pistons

I have seen really high (12.5:1) compression 2.5s make 200WHP with "minor'' fuel mods (wrx injectors and a walbro) and a tune. Honestly, if I made 150ish HP without the mods and a tune I would be extremely happy. As I think a lot of people on this forum would be. But that's why I cant believe I...

EJ22 block and heads with EG33 pistons

So I have been on this site for many years and stumbled across this thread yesterday and couldn't believe I had never heard of doing this before. http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=53168 The thread gets kinda convoluted about engine management at the end but the first half is full ...

Re: transmission "noise"

only second gear? and only under those circumstances? Its probably transmission line pressure bleeding off somewhere. Or maybe its cavitating air. how is your fluid level. have you serviced semi recently?

I didn't notice until you got back and started message bombing the forum. It was nice to see the familiar red back on the board.

+1 on hoping you have a miles card or something. with that many miles you probably fly back to London for free next time.

Re: thoughts on e10 fuel

if you have access to non ethanol premium then that's what I would/have used in the past. depending on where you are, all of the blend on the west coast is E15 at least. Less in the winter. Personally i find the variability in the concentration of ethanol in gas annoying and inconsistent even if you...

Re: TurnNBurn's 1990 Subaru Legacy L 2.2 open light rally ca

Yeah better more reliable injectors, a more common MAF and a more serviceable/adjustable IAC are pluses in my book. I am considering putting the newer style stock air intake on to see if it really is as much of an improvement as everyone claims to be. But other then that. Everything on the car is re...

I moved it back to where it belongs and added a supplementary ground to negative terminal of the battery just to make sure. Also added some other "grounding mod'' locations as well.

Re: Help me locate which wire to wire

I literally just had my harness all torn apart and doing the same thing a few weeks ago on my car. That would have been convenient if I still had mine to look at. Sorry man.

So what you are saying is you snipped what you thought was 1 wire and it ended up cutting 2?

Re: ECU ground for NA legacy

it was from a 90. Sorry I should have posted back on here to elaborate. I should have caught this when I did head gaskets but someone had attached the ground to the mounting bolt for one of the fuel lines that goes under the intake manifold to the passenger side. It was attached but out of sight and...

several years ago I passed in California and I was catless and straight piped. Although I did get dinged for decibels. You probably just need a new o2 sensor.

no damage will result from not having cats, and obd 1 cars don't monitor that down stream air so the car wont even know its got. you will loose some back pressure but in your case that sounds like it would be a good thing. haha

safe is a relative term. It is fine to drive a catless car but what you are suggesting is potentially hazardous to your health. if you do cut the exhaust off before the cat, your exhaust gases will be dumping right under your passnegers seat. So 1, its going to be extremely loud, 2, probably burn th...
