You can plug the resitor in directly where the Waste-Gate Soleniod was and it will keep you from getting a CEL. Careful it gets HOT.

They switched to the crappy plastic plate sometime between 92-93, I think.
I know 91 had metal and my 93 had plastic.

The seperator plate is way more likely than the rear main.

I think that exhuast manifold would cool to use with a custom turbo setup, being that its equal length.

If you shop around, and only replace(upgrade) things that will actually give you more power, I think you could get pretty close to your goal for $3k.

So with better heads, bigger turbo, bigger injectors, intercooler and alittle Engine managment you should be able to do pretty good.

I will be running about 15psi and 18psi max. Im guessing around 250-275CHP.

The pistons cost me 455 shipped. Not bad considering they come with rings, pins, and clips.

I think http://www.importperformanceparts.net/ is about the cheapest.

I used a local guy that I like alot. We talked alot about tolerances, bore finish, ect... And I was able to hang around when he bored the block. Which was nice, because I was able to see the final measurements, and they were right on. It cost me $20 a cylinder to have it bored. Whoever you use, talk...

I ran .003 side clearance, since Im not running "high" boost. If you are going to be running higher HP levels you should run larger clearances.

The stock EJ22t HG is about .054in. So that Cometic should be fine.

FYI: EJ22T w/ DOHC and Wiseco

I finished building the engine and should have it running by the end of the week. I thought I would share some findings. This may be common knowlwdge but.... The Wiseco pistons K601M975(Stock Replacement .020 over) have a 20cc dish,(7-8cc less than stock) making them perfect for the Phase I DOHC swa...

Not to mention that you would confuse the hell out of the ECU. It would think that its spinning @ 6500rpm but the input from the cam sensor would tell it something different. It would send ignition pulses thinking it was spinning 6500rpm, so at anything over that it would probobly run like crap....t...

OK. Lets get some things straight. EJ22t and Post 97 EJ22e (NA) head gaskets match the passages in the 2.5 heads. I dont see the point of using 2.5 head gaskets. EJ22t HGs are alittle over .050" thick Thin 2.2 HGs are about .027" thick The pistons on the Ej22t protrude about .010" If ...

Why would he use 2.5 Head Gaskets?

You need to match the head gaskets with the size of the Bore, not the head.

If you dont mind replacing head gaskets, I would cover them in CopperCoat and reuse them. Knowing that you may(most likely will) have issues later. How much later, I dont know.

Increasing Fuel Pressure 7psi?

What do you think would be the results of increasing fuel pressure by 7.1psi?

I ask because that is the increase if you run a STi FPR. And I consider runing one becuase, they can be had cheap, and they have a hose barb in and out, which is nice for running parallel fuel rails.
