Re: Stumbling idle, running rough, stalling (Rob Tune setup)

Got word back from Rob today. My converter is in the mail. One of the surface mount resistors had a bad solder job. It looked good visually but on the bench the problem I had reported showed up to him as well. As always Rob was very helpful and responsive. Took a little time due to being on vacation...

I'd lean more on spending money on a set of unequal length headers ( I like to keep the boxer sound).

Re: grimmspeed cross over pipe

I had one made by CES. Awesome exhaust work. I kept the uppipe and the turbo back exhaust but removed the from crosspipe in favor for the stock one. It flowed well, but made the car sound like a vw beetle, and it drove me crazy. =)

Here is one. This link will probably only work for a short time as it is an auction site.

Re: 90 Degree Elbow..Plasti-Dip?

There is a samco hose kit for the first generation sti that replaces both plastic 90 degree elbows early sti and BC Turbo engine setups. I've wanted to get it but couldn't justify the price. It is rather spendy. I have a site bookmarked at work where you can buy it, but I'm not finding it right now....

Re: EJ257 swap in my 91 legacy build

I have a lightweight crank pulley form Cobb I believe. I also have a lightweight flywheel. I don't think I noticed much of a change with the crank pulley, maybe a little. They flywheel made a big difference. If you get an aftermarket crank pulley I'd suggest getting one that is not under driven. -Ryan

Somehow "hybrid" and "performance" don't seem to go together in my mind, and I can't imagine a performance car being light enough to be thoroughly enjoyable in the corners with a massive battery.... =(

Re: Volvo c30

Yeah. Went and test drove them the other day with my girlfriend. Turns out the c30 is not being made anymore. There aren't anymore available for the program. So now we are considering an s60 T5 AWD. It has the exact same power as the c30 with the polestar package, and is considerably cheaper than th...

Re: Stockest looking IC setup?

Yeah slant is good and probably easiest. There is a Saab intercooler many have used as well. I have an AWIC which is more work to set up but looks completely stock and the smog guys never even notice it. It even has a Subaru sticker on it. :)

Volvo c30

So has anyone had any experience with them or thoughts? It's no subaru, that's for sure, but I've been toying with getting one and doing their Overseas Delivery Program. They pay for 2 roundtrip plane tickets. The only reason I'd pick the c30 is because it is the ONLY volvo in the line up with a man...

Sure seems like the crazy stuff they'd do to make something like that possible in back then is leagues above the risks we take today, or maybe we are smarter, or who knows. I agree, though. That jet is amazing!

Re: What mods needed to pass California emissions?

The downpipe will likely flag you. I know a guy that has a BPM diverced wastegate downpipe which is a copy of my downpipe, basically (CES). He was able to get his car smogged without incident. I was not. On the top of my downpipe is a plaque that got their attention that read: "CES Racing Syste...

I've lived in both small towns and large towns, and spent several summers in western Washington while spending the school year on the eastern side. What I'm about to say may be common sense, but here we go. Small towns have officers that generally have little to do and you can find yourself with a t...

Re: Stumbling idle, running rough, stalling (Rob Tune setup)

I tried rewiring both the yellow wires going from the harness to the converter, and in the process the blue jumper wire came off the board. I tried my best to get it back on but after putting the convert back in the car it still wouldn't run right and this time, no amount of "futsing" with...

Understanding whiteline adjustable swaybar sizing

Advertised swaybar rates are not "closest bolt matches size." I always thought a 20mm rear swaybar from whitleline was actually an 18-20mm adjustable swaybar. The furthest out hole being the 18 mm, and the closest inward hole towards the swaybar bushings making it the advertised size of 20...

Kimo - I read a post on nasioc where a guy was saying that he had a newer rack, but was using his stock GC pump. He was having some of the problems you are mentioned I believe. He said that he was also running an UOR underdrive crank pully. He felt that the under driven pully affected his pumps abil...

Re: '04 STi steering rack on Turbo Legacy cross member

As far as I know the rack will fit, you'll just need the coupler between the splines changed. L&E Fabrications makes one. It basically is a combination of a GC end and a GD end so that it fits the different spline counts between your steering wheel and the newer rack. The 05 rack has a hard moun...

Power Steering pump differences

Ok, so I'm picking up a newer steering rack, and I am getting a power steering pump with the deal. I know that my power steering pump needs to be rebuilt, and I'm considering just doing that, but I was also curious what the differences in the pumps were through the years. I know that the threading s...

I have two 19mm front sway bars that I picked up mistakenly thinking they were 20mm. They have bushings and brackets as well. I got them for 30 bucks each, make me an offer.
