Ok, look at it this way: The mass flow rate through the compressor outlet has to equal the mass flow rate through the turbine inlet because an engine is a closed system. So, the volume flow rates can(and probably will) be different, because of the differences in temperature, pressure etc. The mass f...

Re: Exhaust gas input to charge air ratio.
example: Is it possible for a 10cf/m flow of exhaust to flow through a turbo and yeild a 15cf/m flow of charge air? all numbers are just for demonstration. Need more parameters. Volumetric flow rate is not enough to define a flow, you need temperatures, pressures, and fluid properties for both flui...

Re: What should I do?
If you want a FWD you can have mine for free you just have to help me pull the motor and tranny out of my 92. Shifts good, I think it has about 175,000 miles on it (been a while since I looked at the odometer). Sounds like a cool car would love to see it stay on the road. I am going to put the moto...

It has the turbo clutch. I will need to swap that to a cable clutch in order to use the NA trans, right? Will the turbo shifter work on a NA trans.?vrg3 wrote:I realize swapping to a turbo-type clutch may be impractical
Also, I'm assuming any FWD trans should work, like this one?

Odd swap questions
Ok, this is going to sound like a very strange swap to be doing but circumstance has me trying to swap a FWD (or possibly an NA AWD) 5MT into my (already 5MT)SS. From some searching I found that the hydraulic clutch will not work with the NA trans, but everything else should be ok. I'm trying to fig...

Do the FWD for now and wait a bit until you have more money. Just swapping trannies should take a day, 2 if it's your first time. You'll save a bunch of time when you put the FWD tranny in because you won't have as much stuff to put back together. I want this car to keep going! :D Yeah, thats exact...

What happened to all those things? It is an SS...and all ss's have AWD... Guy who had it before me blew the rear end by driving around on a donut for a while, then took all that stuff out. I wanted to do the FWD 5MT because that would be the cheapest and easiest way to do it. I was lookin at this o...

What should I do?
Well, I guess it had to happen eventually, but my trans. just blew so now I some choices to make. Either attempt to put a FWD 5MT in it, or part it out. The motor runs really good, but who knows how much time it has left, so I would be reluctant to put it in another car, plus I can't afford another ...
