found the problem. one of the brackets holding the steering rack was not bolted on  I think it was the work of the guys who put the clutch in. I had never driven the car with it fixed, so i didnt know. Its fixed, and im glad the other side didnt loosen

door stuck shut

Ok, i have a door on the front passengers side that someone got in and never got out of. They closed it, and now it wont open again. The door panel is trapping the door's guts inside. I think the problem is the door actuator for the power door locks. You cant turn the key all the way or unlock it fr...

tie rod ends... hadnt thought of that. I was figuring there was a loose bolt on the steering column itself, loose to the point where it could slip to a point on either side. I guess you'll see it before too long :)

if you want a more effective way to reduce drivetrain energy loss, why dont you rip out 4wd? I mean, lightening the flywheel does hardly anything, and its makes the car drive a little wierd. BTW, somebody said that lightening up the flywheel messes up the hydraulic clutch, but i know i have a cable ...

floppy steering

I am going down the freeway at 80 mph, there is a gradual left hand turn. I turn the steering wheel gradually to the left, nothing happens, i turn a little further, nothing happens, then, when the center of the steering wheel is at 10:30, the steering wheel starts turning the wheels. It is floppy on...

the turbo has a beefened (is that a word?) up clutch and there are some real differences between the two trannys. My 1990 service manuals dont say what they are :( but I read somewhere else that there are some fairly major differences. I keep thinking that its that the L is a dry clutch and the turb...

over engineered intake design

so i had my stock legacy. Drilled the silencer. That made it noiser. I like it quiet. I put on a BIG cone air filter. Very noticable increase in power, but i had no torque below 2k rpms. Stoplights were a pain in the ass, i had to actually stop, and the car was LOUD. And so, desiring the torque and ...

thats true, but that doesnt really address my concern. My worries are a: will the shock be compatable with the older legacy spring design i have, as its not listed as being compatable on any literature i've found. It's something about the top... b: I plan to do all four struts, and i thought maybe t...

plans to fix a squishy 90-91 strut

I have a 90 legacy L 4wd sedan. Something about this sedan makes it different from the later model legacies. What exactly is it? I also have a dead right front strut. So far my plan is to buy 2 agx front struts for a later model legacy, install them and set them soft, so i can use my non busted rear...
