Re: KYB & Springs Source

Yeah, I mean basically they only thing that changed on the rear strut cars was the upper perch diameter and the length of the spring.

I guess an updated chart with lengths along with what fits on various top mounts/perches would be a smart idea.

Re: Suspension Swap from 1993 Legacy L to 2001 Legacy GT?

Well, that sucks. Your right rear strut is probably bent anyway.

A lot of the parts for the 05-09 Legacy will fit those so you have pretty good options.

Re: Front and rear bars for 91 L wagon or at least a rear ba

Heard back about these today. Fronts might be coming on whiteline's next air shipment, but the US guys don't know for sure, and don't know if there will be enough to cover the existing backorders. Rear bars are on a boat, will be another month or two before they arrive. So, for anyone who wants to b...

Re: Front and rear bars for 91 L wagon or at least a rear ba

They used to make a rear bar for the 90-91, but it has been discontinued. Part number started with BSR17. They also had a kit that included mounting brackets and tabs that clamped onto the lateral links for cars without a swaybar. To ensure good fitment it's best to track down some 92-99 (or impreza...

Re: Front and rear bars for 91 L wagon or at least a rear ba

You basically just need rear lateral links and brackets. I think we have an "adding a rear swaybar thread" around somewhere.. 96-99 Legacy GT I think hass a 20mm front bar. I've gone through a few different combos, and like having the rear bar the same diameter or a bit larger than the fro...

There's not really much of a difference. Unless yours are bent or rusted out I wouldn't bother. And also make sure the wrx subframes aren't bent where the control arms and lateral links attach from the crash.

Maybe king springs, not sure what the best fitment will be, maybe 93-01 impreza parts with the +1" rears and standard height front.

primitive racing in oregon keeps them around I think.

Re: Exhaust with Wastegate?

And when you change the turbo, is it dangerous for the engine to run it with stock map or is the map just to get the most out of the setup, it won't harm the engine or wear it down faster? More air without more fuel = blown up engine. The stock ecu, maf and injectors can only compensate for so much...

Re: 1992 Legacy L Wagon 4x4 difficulties finding springs.

Also the strut is supposed to sit at an angle. In the front it is called caster, which simply put aids in steering performance and self-centering. Since the rear wheels do not steer that isn't the right term, but it has to do with packaging for the strut (it can be longer if it mounts in front of th...

Re: FACTORY control arm bushing part numbers?

Getting bushings that include the aluminum housing that bolts to the chassis will make your life much easier.

And yes, they interchange all the way from 90-04 for legacies and also with the parts from a 93-01 Impreza.

Re: Exhaust with Wastegate?

Just to be clear on what a wastegate does, since you mentioned "after the turbo," it is plumbed into the exhaust before the turbo to allow excess exhaust to bypass the turbine once you hit the targeted boost (if there was no wastegate, or it stayed closed, the boost could just keep increas...

Re: tires for 05 gt rims

205/45 would be ok, 205/40 is way too short. They are still smaller diameter than the stock size though. 215/45-17 is the stock lgt size. They will give you a little more room and fit better on a 17" rim than a 225, which gets a bit pinched on a 7" wheel. I have 225/45 Hankook v12s on my l...

I have had a few things WPC treated. One was a new gear set for a guy with a modded LGT that seems to still be holding up. WPC can be used on bearings and other engine parts as well to reduce friction. It's like shot peeing, but with very small particles: http://www.wpctreatment.com/about.htm http:/...

Did the rod bolt or rod break, or did the bearing spin and seize?

And what do you mean? driving in the snow means you can easily vary rpm and keep the load on the engine light to moderate!

What I meant was that even in cases where the wagon and sedan ARE different, the outer tie rods are still the same. There's only one subaru roll center kit- kca313. Works on everything except for the brz. And the old cars with a funny short tie rod on one side.

The difference between the sedan and wagon (02-07 impreza are the only case where the track is different) is at the inner tie rod, not outer. I think on one side the whiteline kit will be too long on your car, but you could maybe change the inner end to a newer one where they are the same left to ri...

The bearings that tend to fail first are the ones on the rear transfer gears, and are not that hard to change out. Just pull off the tail housing with the trans still in the car and the transfer gears and center diff will slide off. Then you can inspect the bearings there and replace anything that l...

Plus WRX struts don't fit quite exactly right.

Other parts will mostly fit but you should really use struts for either a 90-94 legacy or 93-01 impreza.
