Re: Wideband A/F gauge users - Digital or Analog?
I couldn't find out if the AEM UEGO had a narrowband output. The failsafe seemed to I believe, but it was more expensive. The PLX has the downside of having little modules you have to locate somewhere, but it seemed to be pretty good and well priced. I went with that. It also has the added benefit t...

Re: Looking for input on a forester purchase
Will do. I don't plan on doing anything super crazy. Power wise the most I'd want do is the old uppipe/turbo/intercooler/ecu mod from an STi. Anything else would be suspension work, but I'm not looking to make gobs of power out of it as it will be a daily driver. I still have my trusty Legacy for my...

Re: Looking for input on a forester purchase
Thanks for the input guys! We test fitted the car seat in an 07 and an 04. I guess they are the same dimensions in the cabin. I'm pulling the trigger on an 04 outside of Portland this weekend. The car should work for us for a little while until we decide we need to get something larger. Time will te...

Re: Wideband A/F gauge users - Digital or Analog?
Does the AEM UEGO have a narrowband simulation line that I can wire up to the ecu so I can just replace my stock 02 sensor?

Re: Wideband A/F gauge users - Digital or Analog?
I think I'm going to go for the PLX DM-6. Anyone had any experience with them? I can get one for about the same price as I can an AEM, and its expandable.

Wideband A/F gauge users - Digital or Analog?
For those of you with Wideband Air/Fuel gauges, which do you prefer: A digital readout, or an sweeping dial gauge? I'm looking to get one, but I'm torn on which one to get. I'm looking at getting the Innovative LC-2 controller with the Bosche 02 sensor. Just trying to figure out which gauge to get. ...

Re: Looking for input on a forester purchase
Hmm, good input. I actually wasn't too aware of the ringland issues. I have a lead on an 07 and an 04. The 04 has a brand new turbo, never modded, and basically a new engine. The owner said he had the dealership fix everything including rings, gaskets, pumps, etc. I'm waiting to get some paperwork f...

Looking for input on a forester purchase
So, we are pregnant with twins. We have our volvo which the wife will drive for the most part, and are selling her Mini. I'm going to buy a forester I think for the times when we need to drive everyone including the dog somewhere. Otherwise, it will be my daily driver. The legacy will still be my to...

Re: Installed MSD DIS-2
I am running the colder plugs. I know it doesn't make sense. But running the stock plugs made my values worse.

Re: Installed MSD DIS-2
Josh - that was exactly my thought as well. The other thing I read is that when you advance the timing you can actually cause your cylinder temperatures to increase, and going with a colder plug offsets it. My oil level was also a bit low for the first couple tests, so for my final test, I had toppe...

Re: Installed MSD DIS-2
So as an update: So let's call the first place A. I went there for a third smog check (free because of some things they missed, like the boost controller). This time I disconnected the MSD ignition. This time they said that I still failed and still qualified as a gross polluter. So after thinking ab...

Re: Installed MSD DIS-2
I had the BRK7E11 plugs when I failed the first time and only failed on the idle. Last time it was smogged was before putting in the Rob Tune ecu, and I passed with flying colors. This second time I put in BRK6E11 plugs and the MSD ignition and seemed to be running rich by the results. I hit the gro...

Re: Installed MSD DIS-2
Yeah good idea Josh. I'll check that later today. I went to re-smog it again today and failed miserably. Last time I was barely off on the idle, this time I was WAY off on both idle and 2500 rpm. I only changed a pcv hose, plugs and ignition. I'm tempted to just retake the free test with the stock i...

Installed MSD DIS-2
Well I finally found an MSD DIS - 2 unit and got it installed. The car runs, so it must all be wired correctly. =) I ended up going to the junkyard and sniping out some wiring and connectors to make a patch harness so I could fit it into my car and easily remove it if I ever needed to. You can see m...

Surprise of the Day at the Junkyard
So I was at the junkyard sourcing some wiring harness parts for the MSD ignition I just got. While walking away from a red 94 legacy wagon I took a second look at it and nearly blurted out some four letters words. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-0xsNp8pJHL0/Uxt5LUWJNnI/AAAAAAAAGuo/qBC6XK-GFQI/w67...
Re: Volvo c30
Will do. Thanks for the congrats. It was an awesome trip. Not something I could pull off every year be any stretch of the imagination, but definitely lucky to be able to pull it off!

Re: Volvo c30
Well to bring a post back from the dead... First, I take back my thought about hybrid cars. 1) the Tesla Model S is crazy fast. 2) a hybrid Porsche now holds the lap record at the Nurburgring...more on that later. We did end up getting a 2014 s60 T5 AWD. The inspiration was to make our trip affordab...

My money is on the filler neck. I didn't know how it disconnected or how you removed it. I'll check that real soon! Thanks!

Leaking Gas Tank
So I developed a leaking gas tank. When the tank was full I came out to find a puddle under the passenger side of the gas tank. It look like it hand all leaked down from the top. I went out and drove it for a bit to burn off some fuel thinking that it was possibly the filler neck, and the leak and t...

You can only pay him for an ecu if he already has one. When I got mine he didn't have any extras.

I have a front 20mm sway bar out of a legacy 2.5 gt. You will need some bushings though.
