Re: front control arms...
If they're from a wagon they are the same width. I have been meaning to go to a wider front track for the added grip and better balance. It's something like 10mm a side and was probably going to try it with the stock axles. You might get away with it driving around on the street, but if you do any ...

You will need WRX axles due to the increased track width.

I've been running without a BPV for a while on my rally car. Great boost response, and no negative effects so far.

Re: 4/2-Pot Brake Discussion
For anyone planning on rallying with these. Make sure you have gravel scrapers on the rear, and make sure they work perfectly. I lost my brakes on stage at LSPR because the rear aluminum calipers got worn down to the crossover pipe, causing all the fluid to take a hike. When I got back, I found the ...

Definitely isn't go-kart like. Leave that to the Lotus.
However I am picking up something similar, Fiesta ST.

If you are looking for a phase 1 trans with DCCD, look for the wire coming out the top of the small flat plate on the tailshaft. No wire? No DCCD.

My wife is convinced I won't go through with selling the car. I might pick up a Fiesta ST to live with for daily driving for a year or two until the Lotus Evoras come down in price a bit more.

. It really is an upgrade that is a huge waste of money unless you already have the talent to actually exploit it. Otherwise unless you have a DCCD with a programmer, it's just going to make the car feel worse. It is impossible for me to imagine the car feeling worse with a tighter center diff than...

Re: Center diff questions:
Honestly, why waste the money? Unless you are just spending money to spend money? You will see better gains with diffs on the front and rear. I have cusco 1.5 way on the front and rear of my rally car. Transforms the way the car puts down power on the loose stuff. Still a stock center diff. I'd love...

Re: 96 Legacy EJ22 into 93 Legacy
Will need single port exhaust like mentioned. Otherwise just use the intake manifold and all associated sensors with your early EJ22 stuff. I did the exact same thing with my old Open Light rally car. 1997 Impreza longblock into a 1994 legacy. Ran great! Still running in the hands of the new owners ...

I don't run a BPV on my rally car. Just have a blockoff plate. For a tiny turbo like the TD-04 it should be alright. No ill effects so far!

After watching those videos, are you using the factory power steering system? Yep! Stock steering rack, but I have a Coleman 1:1.5 reducer built into the steering column. One of the biggest improvements made to the car without a doubt. Let's me be at full opposite lock without taking my hands off t...

What surface are you trying to run on? RallyX? AutoX? Track? Rally?
I run with no swaybars, but a stiffer gravel suspension for rally.

Re: Team Conte
My old car was an NA engine that started out as a turbo. Swapping in the engine was a piece of cake, especially since the only wiring was just swapping two pins on the ECU side. My current car is an Open Class Legacy turbo that has been pretty much bone stock except for a downpipe, MBC, and a custom...

There is nothing stopping you. There are a few Impreza's running around trying to emulate the old 555 liveries. That was my original plan as well when I first got my car. Then all the stuff trying to prep the car to actually be competitive took my time and money. Wasn't until a few years later I had...

This isn't my car. But I race one like it! This is seriously a steal. If anyone out there is looking to get into a great rally car, this is it. http://www.specialstage.com/classifieds/show-ad/?id=483 Plus it is very easy to swap out the turbo engine and get to OL. Just an engine swap and ECU swap a...

Re: Kevin's swapped L sedan, 550 robtune, td06 20g
In a manual most all (95% of them) have a viscous limited slip center. Great when new, but after 100k+ miles, it pretty much acts as an open diff. The viscous coupling may be worn with 100k+ miles and not as good as new, but I think saying it acts as an open diff is a bit of a stretch. The old 5spd...

Re: Kevin's swapped L sedan, 550 robtune, td06 20g
hmmm, interesting. this center diff locker assembly, what makes it better then the original center diff that was in the3.90? I thought most (not all) of the 3.90, 4.11, and 4.44 had locked center diffs at 50/50 power front to rear? In a manual most all (95% of them) have a viscous limited slip cent...

Re: Kevin's swapped L sedan, 550 robtune, td06 20g
Really depends mostly on the actual individual gear ratios. But the lower the final drive, the lower the torque multiplication basically. There's a reason all the track-based, JDM STI gearboxes with LSD and DCCD are 4.44's, they are extremely short ratio (high torque multiplication) vs the 3.9 or 3....
