Yes, there were no 93-96 WRXes in the US.

Re: td04 with TMIC install
Oh yeah, duh, you definitely need an FCD to run 15 psi too. There are lots of downpipe options, but most of them require other exhaust modifications to fit right since they're intended for the bugeye-and-later WRX. If you want one that just fits, look for one intended for a 93-96 WRX. If you want to...

Re: td04 with TMIC install
If your fuel pump is healthy, you shouldn't need to do any other modifications to run 10 psi on a TD04 with the Forester intercooler; just get or make a boost controller and you'll be set. 15 psi may be pushing it with the stock engine management though. And if you have a stock exhaust, it may not r...

Re: td04 with TMIC install
You'll have to do a little work rerouting PCV lines. Just keep some 5/8" and 1/2" heater hose and barbed fittings around. You can see what the stock PCV system looks like here: http://surrealmirage.com/vrg3/vacuum/

Awesome! That's exciting that you got it started!
Any chance we could see those throttle body photos at higher resolution?

Re: deadhp1's 94 lifted n/a wagon ej253 swap
That's the one I'd use if I were you. It may be possible to come up with some kind of adapter to make the 6-wire IAC valve work, but if you're going to have to make wiring changes anyway you might as well just use the 3-wire valve.

Re: deadhp1's 94 lifted n/a wagon ej253 swap
Hmm, I don't think there's a reasonable way to adapt the 6-wire IACvalve to work with the EJ22 ECU. I'm pretty sure it uses a stepper motor, which is completely different from the duty solenoid style IAC valve that has 2 or 3 wires. If you have a spare 6-wire IAC valve I'd love to take a closer look...

Re: deadhp1's 94 lifted n/a wagon ej253 swap
Oh, the timing of this whole thing might make it useless for you, but there's something else I want to mention -- there's a chance that you might be able to use the EJ253 throttle body and IAC valve. The reason you're using the 94 throttle body is that the TPS is different, right? MikeyMiyagi has a ...

Re: deadhp1's 94 lifted n/a wagon ej253 swap
Without the IAC you might have to prop the throttle open a little to get it to start. The IAC valve, if hooked up, would let a fair bit of air bypass the throttle body when cold.

Re: External waste gate
I don't think you'll find anyone who's put an external wastegate on the stock turbo. The closest thing I can think of is the CES turbo-back exhaust with boost enhancement plate that legacy92ej22t had in his car. It's not an external wastegate, but the downpipe is a twin-dump design; it has a separat...

If this works at all, then, yes, I'd imagine it'd work with a WRX throttle position sensor too.

Re: 92 2.2t auto to manual swap questions?
I don't think they "switched," exactly... they just used hydraulic clutches with the EJ25, which was first used with a manual transmission in 1997. The EJ22 (and EJ18) always had a cable clutch until they stopped making it.

Re: How to build a N/A-T that actually works. 213awhp for $1
Alright, I came up with an idea for a little gizmo to adapt the TPS: http://surrealmirage.com/vrg3/pics/tps_adapter.png The idea is that you'd use the Phase II throttle body and then wire this thing in by the ECU. You tap into the TPS Power Supply and TPS Ground wires and connect them to the adapter...

Re: STI fuel pump assembly?
You might consider replacing the ziptie with a steel hose clamp, unless you know that the material the ziptie is made of can withstand extended exposure to gasoline. Gasoline can dissolve a lot of plastics.

Re: Megasquirt DIYPNP
I'm pretty sure there is MegaSquirt code to use both Subaru trigger setups. You just need the crank sprocket to be of the the corresponding type. I don't know what kind of trigger 2000 Forester heads have. You might have to remove the left cam sprocket and look at the pips on it. If it has two pips ...

Re: Megasquirt DIYPNP
Josh - The newer cam/crank sensor setup is better in principle; it's more precise so it allows the ECU (whatever ECU that happens to be) to get a more precise idea where the camshafts and crankshaft are at any given time. That means that ignition and even fuel timing when you're accelerating is more...

Re: Intermittent wiper switch?
Right. You don't have to bother with harness connectors if all you're doing is upgrading to variable intermittent wipers. The stalk just snaps in and has contacts on the mating surface, like Alphius describes.

There's no depinning involved. It just plugs into the multiswitch assembly. It's a pretty easy job, and takes maybe 20 minutes.

Wow. That surprises me that the ECU wasn't throwing a code.
It's amazing how well these motors run on just 3 cylinders, isn't it?

What was the resistance you measured? That's good to know an injector can be bad in a way that you can diagnose electrically without the ECU throwing a code.

Re: How to build a N/A-T that actually works. 213awhp for $1
Nice little writeup. I'm envious.
If you'd like, I can try to help you make the phase II TPS work with the EJ22T ECU. I'm imagining a little circuit to switch the voltage range around and simulate the idle switch signal. Shouldn't be too hard.
