You have to put an actuator in the drivers door, which when activated locks/unlocks the rest of the doors. Passenger and rear doors have actuators, drivers dose not. I dont know why. It's the way a central locking system works. I have an actuator for one of our doors lying around somewhere at the a...

Ok then, what would cause hard shifting from 1st to 2nd under light loads or acceleration? I fine under hard acceration. How old the transmission? I know my Legacy transmission would clunk a bit during light shifts because it was just old. My SVX transmission does the same thing. I did find though ...

can you explain what torque bind is and why it could cause this situation? thanks I STRONGLY doubt it's torquebind. It would be far more pronounced than a little bit of wheel hop. Any roaring from the back? Scraping? I wonder if a bushing or your wheel bearing crapped out. It could just be physics ...

As far as that goes, most 4 cylinders DO sound like shit and they're almost all inlines. A problem that's exacerbated by all the crooked-hatters with the loud fart cans that wake up a neighborhood as they full throttle accelerate to 60 in 10 secs. The flat four with a decent exhaust sounds more lik...

10w-30 I think is what the manual calls for. You can pretty much use anything from 10w-30 to 20w-50 - I've found that the cars are rather versatile in their oil usage. Brand doesn't matter and I'd stay away from synthetic - you'll make your car leak so much oil that way. Dino oil is just fine for yo...

Meh, I've found that the TCU does an adequate job of defining torque split. On my 91, there was never a time where I couldn't get it to 50/50 anyways. On my SVX, it takes a little bit to split enough for the rears to catch (like a car length), but it still catches nonetheless. I figure, if it ain't ...

Shut off the motor off and re-connected 4, started it up and it quit acting up  How the he11 am I going to figure this out? Hate to blow t...

Gloves for the plug wires. Pull them at the coil.
