I'd like to get 200US for the whole thing. I used a 120VAC pump with a 400W inverter. All the plumbing is done but you need to put the pump inplace of the AC compressor. Works great.

The legacy AF system is MAF based so why are you so worried about fuel at 10+ psi?

it sould say ej22 on the block ender the ps pump. My Ej20 and EJ25 ans EJ22 say this clearly. I have never heard of an open deck EJ22 8:1 engine - it does sound like you have something odd happening. So you either have a high compression NA block - yikes - or a NA block that they reduced the compres...

and the easier way to do it electronically is to use a zerner diode clamp and a series resistor. It's non adjustable but it's the bomb reliability wise - and WAY easier to construct. R (10000 ohm or so) to ecu ---------/\/\/\/\-------- to sensor | | 4.5V zener (or whatever) | | GND But i still don't...

You could also try to design a closed loop PID controller that uses the pressure sensor for feedback. Without other intelligence you do run the risk of overspeeding the turbo at part throttle, though. And you need a pressure sensor that reads up to the range you're dealing with, which may mean the ...

i can only sense either or. With just MAP I get unpredectible CELS and safe mode operation. Dangerous. With just atmospheric there seems to be no caveats. I have a Blitz external boost controller.

These cars are pretty cool - well mine's an impreza, but still.

VSS

what does the vss (speed sensor) do? i have the pulsating signal from my dash but apparently there is also a module that "should" be connected. mine isn't. my performance is good. my mileage isn't. no cels.

Tonight I drove up a mountain road. Mostly 4th and 5th at 15PSI. Pretty cold out (5C), 60MPH+, 10min+ no problems. No knock. Also, I have the MAP pressure line completely disconnected from the sensor. No fuel cut. No MAP info to the ECU. Seems to work ok. I am going on the fact that the ECU uses onl...

fuel type

I'm presently running the cheap stuff (87 low grade) and I can get 12.5 PSI with no knock. > 12.5PSI = knock knock. Any guesses as to what I can boost on 94?

Come on - I'm taking a poll :)

problem solved

Looks like I left the coil on! Apparently the coil is grounded [switched on] (current ramps up in the primary inductor) for a few milliseconds before it's ungrounded (inductor core energy dissipates across the spark gap via secondary coil) THEN there is the dwell time where the is no current through...

I think my 92 JDM EJ20T has a JECS - but I am not 100%. What I do know is that is has the same MAF as my 93 impreza L FWD auto. In fact I am using the impreza maf now since it was cleaner on the inside :)

coiler

Don't know this this will help but..... I recently cooked one of my EJ20T JDM Legacy coil packs. The four ignitor coil over plug style. I dunno what happened but it just let all the smoke out. I measured the primary resistance should be about 1 ohm - so 144W is the coil is stuck on by the ignitor. y...

MAP informatin???

My pressure exchange valve is broken. So I can have either atmospheric or MAP pressure on the pressure transducer. I have tried this both ways…with 100% waste gate auction (direct pressure -6PSI max) and no pressure (~10 PSI under hard acceleration in the higher gears and spool up greater than 15 wh...

alternator

It's not the "alternator" or it's output capacity that's the problem. It's the regulator circuit that controls the field current fed back to the rotor via the brushes. If your alternator isn't making 13.8+ volts at 2000 rpm then you should be wondering about what's up. A bad battery can al...

Took car to work this morning. Don't use plastic zip ties on the intter cv boots. zip tie broke and puked goop all over my down pipe. Holy smoke show.

6psi on no intercooler seems to work ok. I'm scared to turn it up with no IC pump. What do you guys think?

I tried the car out tonight. Not bad not bad. With the solenoid connected but the MAP sensor port broken the car spools up to about 6psi. With the wastegate disconnected it spools up to about 15. I havent't really done a long pull - just a second gear jaunt up a small piece of road. Still, it seems ...

lean and mean

Ok, thanks for the info. I'll run this next rally on stock boost but I have already started my big boost controller. The plan is to add two more injectors the top of the manifold. One for fuel and one for cooling water. With a bit of luck this mixture will be distributed evenly to the four cylinders...
