Re: switching the charge read wire

makes sense but i'd figure there would be some sort of external controller you can buy and wire in-between that can give you a specific voltage.

Re: '91 Legacy GT Sedan, H&R sport spings

Try 92-94 top hats.

Generally, we tell people with 92-94 to swap out tophats with a 91' when installing lowering springs for WRX's due to the tapered rear design. If the springs you have aren't tapered.. i'm thinking maybe 92-94 springs would work in this case.

Re: Just curious, will Apexi Power FC ECU work in our cars?

What Binn said ^ ESL is a hell of a lot cheaper option to get full tune-ability with our cars these days. Although, if you already had a PowerFC, I would use it. They're pretty sweet, a lot of my Nissan friends run them on SR20DET and RB20/25DET setups. It's a great tool for sure. It just never pros...

Re: No hole in fire wall for clutch master...

Like stated above, I'm going to assume since 90' wasn't a turbo option that's why there's no hole. 91-94 we had the turbo option, so i'd assume that's why the NA cars have the spot for it.

Re: Stock EJ20G low boost?

10w60??? Jesus. Put a 10w30 at least for that temp outside. Honestly sounds like you have a post turbo leak. I would smoke test it. But if you can't do that just look around and check all your hose clamps and fittings. The fact you fixed a broken vac T and it got better points to a vac leak somewher...

Re: 91 legacy 5 speed swap now having problems

Don't mess with your TPS right now. Just unplug the battery and let it sit for a few hours and give it another run. See if it still happens. Good to that you found that loose clamp, Josh was spot on the problem sounding MAF related.

Oregon: 93' Subaru Legacy Turbo Sedan

Well the time has come I think to part with my sedan. It's been a long road but I blew the shortblock up on the new motor and I've lost motivation to go any further with it. The car is pretty solid if you just threw another shortblock in it. Something failed and blew a hole in the shortblock. Otherw...

Re: robertpaige's 92' Legacy SS - build

It's a sad sad day, but I blew a hole through the top of the block. Not sure what went wrong as I saw no signs of engine failure at all until it exploded. This car is going to be stripped, and scrapped :( The core support and firewall are damaged as well as the chassis is just not clean at all. I fo...

Re: RobTune issues/questions?

Yeah that's what i'm assuming too, really bummed. I didn't see it coming at ALL! I got a few options, and this weekend i'm selling the robtune, turbo, injectors, MAF, and FMIC for $1200. So this will find a new engine, and then i'm going with a larger turbo, bigger injectors, and an ESL tune. It sho...

Re: RobTune issues/questions?

My wideband pins out at 10.0 so yeah it could be richer. Not sure why, I haven't replaced my coolant temp sensor which maybe could be a problem? I am going to try another MAF too. i've done smoke tests and they've been fine, no leaks. When I first push the throttle when I start it in the AM, the car...

Re: Removing PCV system?

I have been running this setup for about 5k miles now, and the oil changes have all looked great (new Motor so it was done at 500, 1000, and 2000 miles, and is dues again at 5000). I asked my tuner what they did on all their shop cars and this is it, so that sealed the deal for me running it like I...

As long as the post-MAF pre-turbo inlet for those hoses are plugged, it should be fine.

Re: RobTune issues/questions?

I am still having the issue. This morning, I decided to see what happens with the car is cold. The temp gauge was like 1/4 from the middle, so I ripped 2nd thru 3rd to redline and it didn't hesitate what so ever. I let it get up to operating temp and I couldn't go WOT without it hesitating. It doesn...
