Re: DLC's 97 Outback Limited 5MT

Well, I might just be getting back that incredible set of TWE Equal-length Stainless headers I had, with the Random HFC, and that should help the sound a lot. http://gallery.legacycentral.org/d/315-2/076.jpg That, and getting rid of this ridiculous FXT midpipe silencer abomination. It makes the weir...

Re: DLC's 97 Outback Limited 5MT

I am not aware of any date after which this expires. The 97 is the oldest I've tried with. If the belt is very worn, has tears, or is in any sort of condition YOU think is sketchy, I'd ask them about it. In other news, I got the Bosal Brospeed exhaust up with a modified FXT midpipe, including resona...

Re: Arcing with the 06 Legacy's coil pack

With the level of corrosion you've encountered on that car, there's no reason to assume it hasn't reached into the engine bay also.

Perhaps see if you can borrow someone's extra coilpack, maybe via a user on LGT.com.

You definitely need to befriend someone at the parts counter...

Re: DLC's 97 Outback Limited 5MT

Got some more wrench time in the garage: Purchased and installed a gold Cobb aluminum oilcap and blue Tuned By Cobb battery tie-down. Swapped the JDM sidemarkers from the 98 to the 97. Swapped the tires and wheels back and forth (whitewalls begone!) Removed the Bosal Brospeed SPT muffler from the 98...

Re: DLC's 97 Outback Limited 5MT

I will try to get an out-of-car video of the noise this thing makes with the Apex-i Noir before I swap it on Saturday. The in-car stuff doesn't do it justice.

Would you please get me the issue and page? I've got a lot of stuff in the Gallery and access to most C&D issues. I'd like to add that one to the Gallery with the FIA Endurance stuff.

Re: DLC's 97 Outback Limited 5MT

Perhaps I'll return it to the torque box when I've quieted down the exhaust some. Right now I'm still getting used to the extra power the 2.5 has, along with its willingness to rev versus the EJ22E. I've got an ancient Turn 3 intake "box" I'll be putting on it as well, so it would be inter...

Re: DLC's 97 Outback Limited 5MT

I had to get the belt replaced on my 98 also, with no problem from the dealer. It does take a little time but it's not a big deal in that naighborhood. The only time I've ever noticed a strut tower bar was in my BF. The first-generation wagons are flimsy and it really shocked me. This car has much s...

DLC's 97 Outback Limited 5MT

This isn't going to be too exciting, but since I never really did this with the 00 GT, and nearly all of the 98 L parts are being moved over, it was time to represent in this forum. Re: 17x9 Rotas, EJ22t, 4eat, Ralliart, Touring Wagon parts,

Any idea how many miles the HAs have on them? They were the favorite coilover set I had on my 93 and I think they'd work well on a second-gen also.

Re: Lightweight flywheels? To spend or not to spend....

I had a lightweight on both my 93 TW and 00 GT LTD NA and loved it in both cases. Rev-matching was something I progressively learned and, well, it makes driving a bit funner too.

I rarely had difficulty with stalling, but more on the turbo than the NA.

Car Lot

It's been requested over the years that a dedicated forum for whole car sales be added in order to clear up some of the confusion in Parts Shed. It's time, so please shop for and post your ads for cars, from a bare chassis to full-blown rally car, in Car Lot: http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewforum.p...
