Re: SSM1 USB
Yea, thats the basic idea. I seem to recall when you reset the ecu with revscan, it'll actually say leave the car off for X seconds. Before you even bother to attempt the ecu reset, make sure the connection is established. I always did this by double-checking that an engine parameter would show up a...

With the engine idling and all accessories off, what is the voltage coming out of the alternator? With lots of accessories on, what is the voltage?

Safer to get it from somewhere else which is tied into the ignition ACC switch position circuit.legacylok wrote:Also is it okay to tap into the power supply for the ecu to power the f/ic or should i get power from somewhere else?

Re: SSM1 USB
The latest version of revscan (v1.1) can check and reset codes. Expand ECU -> Error Codes. Give it a few seconds to query all of the stored codes. Then you can right click on each code and clear it. If you right-click on just ECU and select 'reset memory', it's same thing as the CEL code reset proce...

Re: engine tunning options? / data loging, Im Lost
I've successfully used EvoScan 2.7 with a LC-1 wideband for data logging.... must be a software config issue.
As Josh stated, the most you want to log at any time is ~4 parameters, otherwise there won't be enough resolution to analyze.

Sites like .subarupartswarehouse.com will show you what years/models a specific part works with.
In the case of the Autecs MAF (part 22680aa160), it works with 1990 to 1998 N/A legacy, forester, impreza .

Yes, evoscan will let you monitor all the sensors (only because I and another person took the time to reverse engineer all the parameters and conversions). Yes, you want the SSMI cable. Yes, evoscan will hook into your wideband (the website lists what models are supported...basically every current w...

Re: engine tunning options? / data loging, Im Lost
Datalogging you have a few options... * vg3's dos scan tool. IMO, I wouldn't recommend it as its picky about the hardware and you have to make your own cable. * EvoScan. commercial tool which supports ODB-I. The author has implemented a configuration I modified (there is thread somewhere on this for...

They do get maxed out if the ECU ever goes into limp mode (aka octane factor below 50 or 25%...I forget which). Data logging of this in http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic. ... 72#p314372Alphius wrote:I am probably close to maxing the 440s.

I know the revtronix chip and no cat can pass WA emissions (http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=45181) so probably related to your lack of PCV.

You'll have better luck if you download an official scene release instead of lots of the random shit out there. A site like http://www.orlydb.com/ is useful to find out. Also will tell you if its nuked.

It's not going to compare to a new WRX... but it should be noticeable. What does the boost gauge read? If you dont have one, thats the first thing to do to troubleshoot your 'problem'.

I had 1 go bad on me after ~15K miles and replaced it. No active CEL either, just an occasional stored CEL (found via RevScan). Only found it was bad after testing its resistance.cj91legss wrote:Just out of curiousity, how common is injector failure with 440s? I have replaced 2 within the last 6 months

Re: Ej22T MAF
EJ22 MAF aka 'JECS' or AUTECS can only be used in the EJ22T if you have engine management to compensate for the different airflow rates. There is also a wire mod needed for this swap, unless the engine management compensates for it (like Revtronix). There is a range of MAFs which work in the EJ22 fr...
