Re: Exhaust temp gauge...where to mount sensor?
I was thinking that what I really want with my setup, at least until I get things sorted a bit better is to have a bung installed in the collector on the headers, since I have no turbo and I want an aggregate of all four cylinders to see overall temperatures. But from what you guys are saying I need...

Re: Gauge mounting 91 leggy
Most people do an a-pillar mount or replace the center A/C vents with a plate for gauges. I've also seen people put them down by the stereo, but I'm not a huge fan of that positioning. Another decent option is a gauge cup attached to the steering column trim in front of the speedo or tach. Is there...

Gauge mounting 91 leggy
I want to add gauges in my leggy wagon, looking for good mounting spots open to all ideas. Also, any ideas on good egt gauge package? Thanks in advance.

Re: Chip for stock ECU!
the reason I bumped this thread (again) is because I dont know the history of a lot of the development efforts in obd1 electronics...never cared till I started playing with legos. So I am in a relevant topic and asking questions...is it better in some way to start new threads for which there are alr...

Re: Revtronix? Tell me about them...looking for tuning solut
Is revtronix the only place that tunes OBD1 based subarus? I seriously need the help of someone who has done and can do again. Also within a few hours of central VA would help too.Another option if you're close to Vancouver, is to bring your car and get a custom tune done by Revtronix.

Re: ej22 to ej25d swap...not as easy as it looks
Tom, Did you end up going back to the stock air box? If not, I'd also recommend doing that in addition to the things we talked about last night. Regarding the subie dealership, I'd be a little surprised if they have techs that were knowledgeable in the older subie stuff. They may have that knowledg...

Re: ej22 to ej25d swap...not as easy as it looks
About time for an update. IACV has been reinstalled in the factory configuration, and it was idling weird, throwing cel at random and generally acting like something possessed. Again partly my fault. But things are looking and running much better now. It seems the white and black wires going to the ...

Re: Need quick help!!!!!
Here is something you can try...found out I had a problem with wiring where the white and black wires on the IACV were reversed. Once I swapped them at the IACV engine starts, idles, no more CEL. Worth a shot to try it...I would try 3 test leads as a temporary connection before you bugger up the wir...

Re: EJ20G "RobTune" Info
Ok, time to catch up a bit... Well I'd be interested in adapting it to my EJ22T. Is there any way of advancing the timing to make up for the drop in CR in the 2.2's, not sure if that would be simple to do or not. Would it be do able to put one of these in, throw it on the dyno and see whats going o...

Re: Valve adjustment of a 2.5 in 1st gen legacy
I was able to do it in my '90 and '02. It was necessary to pull the washer reservoir and the airbox to get room, but that's all. There isn't excess room by any stretch of the imagination, but there is enough. I really dread trying to do that. I have one valve out of spec that clacks like hobnail bo...

Re: ej22 to ej25d swap...not as easy as it looks
A case here of premature evaluation...still got a slight stumble misfire under load 4th, 5th gear, but it is better. I wonder if the ECU is smart enough to learn what it needs to know to run properly? Or should I look at replacing the O2 sensor now? I had just done that 8 months ago and it was worki...

Re:
Yeah....it is the best resource we have. I like my 90 FSM's because they were used by a mechanic. They are "dirty" they have been updated with new info. There's sections where he taped in the new info over the old stuff. So I like to think the 90 fsm's info is more correct then my 92-94 s...

Valve adjustment of a 2.5 in 1st gen legacy
I know I am not the only person who has stuffed a 2.5 in a legacy. But because I am really new to that experience there is a heck of a lot I dont know. Is it possible to get the valve covers off and adjust the valves with the engine in the car? I am specifically asking if there is enough clearance b...

Re: ej22 to ej25d swap...not as easy as it looks
It seems that all MAF sensors are not created equal. The one I was running was one I got from a boneyard and I never looked at the brand on it...dont remember what it was now, but the one I put on the car was a JECS I got from Josh, thank you Josh. It runs much better now thank you. I think there is...

Re: ej22 to ej25d swap...not as easy as it looks
It still stumbles just a bit at mid throttle, I am guessing it is right at the edge of going into open loop mode. I am thinking I might get better results by throwing away the CAI I have attached to the MAF and going back to the factory box. Plus it looks more stock that way. hehe It seems like it i...

Re: 2009 WRX airbox on 1st gen legacy, anyone tried it?
After looking at the shape of the box, where it has to go in the car and where the air inlet and outlet are, it would be a difficult adaptation. Of course if you have a turbo 1st gen legacy, you might could make it work.
