How much boost are you running? I have the same catch can on my turbo ej22e with a clear hose going to my turbo inlet & it is still Perfectly clear after about a year of use. Catch can is also empty. ? if the ej22t generates more crank-case pressure than the ej22e. I run an EVO III TD05-16G Turb...

Price seems kinda high to me.

I was given a much lower quote to rebuild a ej22t bottom end with custom standard bore pistons, eagle rods, finish hone / fresh bearings / seals.

That is the point, I'm tired of hearing "you can't get parts for a EJ20G" said all the time when you really can.

+1 that is off a old turbo kit.

The welds are TIG'd & will usually come out nice if the welder has skill + the material is clean/not contaminated.

Looks good on your car great trade!

I never took any pics of the battery box but it is pretty easy/straightforward.

I bought the battery relocation kit from summit racing but used a smaller battery box bought locally, ran the power cable, & bolted the b-box down right behind the back seat.

SOME/Most of the The Beam can remain with a FMIC see Dan's UHEV build Journal. http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=38305&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=50 I did something very similar to what Dan did on my SS but used a bigger core (31x12x3) mounted lower so it all sat inside of...

EJ20G Part # Link

I posted this in the parts shed ( http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=39488 ) but do not think folks will look there to get the info so here it is again.

The EJ20G does run well on the ej22t ECU, just try to avoid the older Legacy EJ20G's as they have an old rocker arm valvetrain.

I would look for a JDM engine importer. You can get the complete longblock or even whole front clip shipped to you on a pallet. Just do a google search there's a ton of these importers and you can check their inventory online and even get pictures of the merchandise. I'll just say that from my EJ20...

Sure, spend $2K for engine management with launch-control and anti-lag ability, which will destroy your valves fairly quickly. (That's the flame-throwin' back-firing system you see in operation on rally cars, it keeps the turbo spooled up by retarding igntion and dumping gas into the intake, turnin...

Good job on the FMIC mounting!

I like your notched front bumper beam & did the same thing on my SS.
It was a Pain in the butt to chop the beam with cut-off wheels & a sawzall but it came out OK - much better than taking the easy way out & chopping the center of the beam off in my opinion.

I had the same problem - knock sensor was the cause.

Not sure if there is a u-pull-it in your area but a knock sensor from any Subaru will work, you just have to re-pin the connector on the updated sensor off of later model cars - total u-pull-it cost should be $5.

Your right 20psi is not much especially on a small turbo/low CFM turbo. We run GT45R's @ around 35PSI on our 2 KP61 Starlet Rotary drag cars & even that is low. We have not tuned the 1980 2JZ Powered Toyota Corolla yet but I think boost will be relatively low on that car it also has a GT42R, big...

The Goodyear fuel line with the blue plastic inside can hold ALOT of fuel pressure (over 100psi steady state no problem) but is expensive - $8/ft.

It's actually a combination of the exhaust trim being extremely small and camshafts. The ej22t was designed for midrange power. So matching a decently sized trim of around .70 with a decent amount of duration in the camshafts will power till redline. It's that simple no other way to put it. The sma...

O - as far as E/M there are many options, Dan's friend uses a FMU, I use a FMU + Alky injection/controller.

A local friend of mine uses e-mange blue & made 194WHP on ICS's Dyno @ just 4ish psi on a '05 2.5RS 4EAT with a tweaked GT25R'd AVO turbo kit - which was pretty interesting/impressive.

Fabrication buddy is pretty busy & right now as he is redo'ing the cage/frame a full tube framed drag car & has 2 others lined up after this one is done. So For simple muffler stuff I think a regular exhaust shop will have to be used as my buddy will not have time for "normal" stuf...

If you need any aluminum or anything welded my buddy is super reasonable, located in NYC, & is an artist with a welder - TIG or MIG he has both (2 TIGs + 1 MIG actually)!

He welded all the aluminum tubes on my FMIC set-up & he made my single port up-pipe, downpipe, & exhaust.

I used a Ported TD05, & lowered boost by using a Tial 38mm EWG with 4.5ish psi spring in it - Clipped TD06-20G arrived yesterday ? if that will go on. I SHOULD have just used a VF11 Actuator as it would have been a cheaper & easy to get base boost levels to 5psi but I guess you live & le...
