Re: Cleaning IAC

+1 for cleanin the IAC. I just did this and holy cow did it make a difference in the quality of my idle. Like many on here, my idle was awful. Low and wondering between 200- 600. It would practically die if i didnt give it any gas at idle. I just sprayed a small amount of break clean down the tube a...

Re: FS 91 SS turbo trans and rear diff

Oh man. I live up in sacramento and premium gas just hit the $4 mark  So even this close is pretty far. I would rather just save the time and have it shipped. How much would it be to send that bad boy up here?

Re: Downpipe ?'s

Well i feel like a an idiot... turns out the down pipe fit after all. The hanger that bolts to the block was to long and forced the down pipe into a position that touched the cross member. A little propane torch and a tweek of some pliers got the hanger into the right position and everything fit int...

Re: Downpipe ?'s

Sweet! That is good news to hear that someone has done what i was thinking. Iv got a sawsall and a 5lb hammer and was planning to do exactly what you said about notching and bending up. I would be doing it now if it werent for the torrential down pour that is happening outside right now. Iv got noth...

Re: Downpipe ?'s

Oh ok. Yeah i knew it was going to need to be extended in the rear to make it look normal coming out of the bumper when i started this. Although im not familiar with welding and didnt know different methods were needed on the type of metal i have. I hadnt read up on anyone having issues with fitment...

Re: Downpipe ?'s

I havent been able to get under the car to take pictures, but there was some pictures in the legacy central library http://legacycentral.org/library/transmission/images_trans.htm that show pretty well what i am talking about. There is a picture about half way down that shows the rear cross member of...

Re: Most common exhaust leaks???

I had a similar snow incident in my impreza. I couldnt see the huge rock hidden in the snow... bounced off my skid plate hard enough to bend it and a pointy end of the rock landed smack dab on my exhaust and tore a hole about 3 inches long and bent all my hangers... im still shocked it missed my rea...

Re: Duty C solenoid With Torque Bind

Yeah i have the Hanes manual that walked me through the steps you described. Warmed up, engine running, on flat surface, manually shift through all gears then quickly messure. It was just shy of the Full mark on the Hot side of the stick. So im not blind! I was hoping that little bugger wasnt somewh...

Re: Downpipe ?'s

So iv had a turbo back exhaust from a wrx similar to the one posted that has been sitting in my garage for like 3 months now and just found a friend that would be willing to extend it out in the rear. But when i removed my stock DP and went to fit the new 3'' DP in there, there were definitely some ...

Re: Duty C solenoid With Torque Bind

So i guess the FWD fuse workin was a coincedence as my problems came back. Ericem's suggestion of changing the fluid was my first instinct, so thats where i started. As i crawled under my car to inspect where this solenoid goes into the transmission (which im still not sure where to locate) to get t...

Re: Duty C solenoid With Torque Bind

So i put in the FWD switch with some interesting results. The torque bind seems to be gone. Although it does go away randomly so im not sure this is what helped. It doesnt jerk when i turn the car off but the power light still blinks. The turning radius does seem better but i still chirp the tires w...

Re: Duty C solenoid With Torque Bind

An update to something i have recently noticed after doing a torque converter stall test, while in gear i hold the brake and step on the gas to see where the TC stalls out at, the car does not lurch forward when turned off right after this. And if i start it back up after doing this test, it consist...
