Re: 4eat issue with a question for the seriously Subie guys

Subie is back on the road, seems to shift okay, but have only driven about 5 miles or so.. Need to p...

4eat issue with a question for the seriously Subie guys
1990 2.2 Auto AWD Wagon.. unknown miles on engine trans were wrecking yard pullouts a couple of years ago. Coming home from work Tuesday, stopped to yell at some kids breaking windows, then drove on. When I pulled away the trans wouldn't pull, (had been working great). Managed to get it home and did...

Will be selling '98 Outback -Tacoma WA
Will be putting my '98 Outback AWD up for sale in the next week or so, thought I'd throw it out here first. 2.5 quad cam, 136K on engine, new heads, timing belt, water pump, oil separator, and tune at 133k. Auto trans front seal weeps, was changed when engine installed at 222K, but didn't seal right...

question on rod bearings
replaced the 2.5 quad cam in my '98 Outback a couple of weeks ago with a wrecking yard pullout that had just had heads, head gaskets, timing belt kit and water pump, etc, etc, .. The donor car was rolled over, in the accident. Problem now is that when started cold it rattles for a second or two, won...

Re: FREE '90 AWD Legacy 4EAT
Will hang onto it until first of the week, if no one wants it by then will dump it at the wrecking yard... BTW, wife drove it this way for several months, actually picked up a little over a 1 mpg.. guessing less engine load in traffic.. was totally drivable, just had to give a little throttle and it...

FREE '90 AWD Legacy 4EAT
Wanted to see if anyone is interested in the trans from the wife's '90 Legacy AWD, It's the 4EAT, worked good, except when sitting at idle in gear it seems like it partially disengages. AWD worked right, and the diff is good. Would be a rebuilder, or parts? Has convertor, stub shafts, harness's, etc...

Re: Anyone else have this problem? 4EAT disengages at stops.
have replacement engine/ trans hanging in the hoist in the garage now. Going to clean things up and swap it in... once I check it out I'll take care of oil changes, timing belt, cam seals etc. would do all of it while it's out and easy, but don't want to put a bunch of money into it and find out it'...

Re: Anyone else have this problem? 4EAT disengages at stops.
Okay, so what t/s'ing can I do? Would it be possible for it to be the trans inline filter?? Have a donor car here now, cleaning out the garage so I can pull engine and trans as a unit, and swap it into the wife's. Her's is over 250K, and almost 100K since we got it, still haven't even changed the ti...
