Wheel covers= Nissan Pulsar? I haven't googled it yet.
Wait....a real Ford? Like a Mercury LN7? But you're pretty JDM, so I'd stick w/something from Japan. :-)

Edit: I should've known....now I do.

JDM Imports

No affiliation, but they have some very fine 1st Gen Legacy models. Not cheap, but also not crap. Re: '98 Legacy Outback Cold Air Intake

HI - and welcome. This forum caters to the older '89-'94 models, but your '98 is similar. LegacyGT.com and UltimateSubaru.org site may also have good info. Most- if not all- Subarus (as do most brands) had CAI from the factory. If you look at where your air comes in, it's from inside the fender line...

Rumor is not to use carb cleaner or anything w/too strong/forceful a spray - to avoid damaging the element. So sensor kleen FTW.

Re: Dankberries STi s209

Congrats on nabbing one. Not asking for $$, but did the dealer add a healthy profit to the sticker? Kinda like when anything rare 1st comes out. Ford dealers are notorious from what I've read. Regardless, unless money is a consideration (and based on this post I'd guess it's secondary) I'd wait 'til...

Re: Car stalling while driving

I'd still get another MAF. Used is OK, although they do fail, it's not super common. Unfortunately the turbos used the rare metal MAF. They were also used on the '90-'91 (?) 5-speed Legacy, if you're lucky to a have a pullnsave/used auto parts nearby. New may be $pendy and/or hard to find. The plast...

Re: Car stalling while driving

"First off I can't hear the fuel pump running when I switch on the key, and when I pop the fuel cap there's no pressure..." Time to install a DW fp (or similar). If you bought a used Subaru, you 'must' be able to wrench, correct? :D But check the relay and wiring 1st (you'll want to google...

Re: Ej22t shortblocks

There are lots of threads in the Parts Shed (Ads) for Buyers wanting them...in the past. I'd reach out to see if there's still interest. You can also list them on Ebait...including the UK version..and likely get some interest. I sold two (sets of block halves) and both were well worth the trouble $$...

I'd read thru the 5-speed swap here: https://www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/swap/swap.html
To see what is required (i've since forgotten). May be some clues.

Re: Can't reset ECU?

HI, I'd strongly suggest searching on here/online for microphone (or just mic) wire for the KS. Those wires are all suspect under the throttle body/intake manifold. FWIW, my 1st EJ22T had the same issue, seemed to run OK, but was in limp mode. Fixed the KS and had full boost (and ignition advance) -...

Re: The infamous limp mode!!!(5psi)

Where is the subaru select monitor connector on the factory harness for a Legacy SS? i might try and see if a subaru shop can plug into it. Not sure on your swap, but it's the YELLOW connector near the driver's right knee on the stock SS. If you build a cable (search on here) you can use some of th...

Re: EJ22T Swap into NA Legacy - The List....

NO offense, but your MBC can only INCREASE PSI not reduce. You're limited by the WG PSI. Maybe an EBCS can lower it? But I don't think so. Per http://www.hallmanboostcontroller.com/faq.html : Can I lower my boost with a boost controller? A: No. With any boost controller you can only raise boost abov...

Re: EJ22T Swap into NA Legacy - The List....

The reds are 270cc or so. I think all the 2.2 and 2.5 reds from '92-'98 were the same. And just to clarify the DOHC side-feed fuel rails are interchangeable between engines, including NA vs. turbo. BUT the injectors are not. Actually ...the best option...IMHO...is to run those @ WG boost until you g...

Re: EJ22T Swap into NA Legacy - The List....

Argh..yeah, I missed that 'little' tidbit about fuel rails. You'll need to source the EJ20G DOHC rails to use the EJ22T injectors. THAT could be tough......you might find on here about modding the SOHC rails to fit, but can't recall for sure if that's an option. Off the top, I cant recall any other ...

Re: EJ22T Swap into NA Legacy - The List....

Also...since this is your DD, I'd get it running 'stock' w/the stock pinks, ECU, MAF, etc. It'll run great 'as is'. With TMIC and VF28, you can run just under the fuel-cut of the ECU - about 12 PSI w/an MBC. I'd guessitmate close to 180HP/Torque at the wheels....a big jump over the stock turbo's pow...

Re: EJ22T Swap into NA Legacy - The List....

Either I'm out of the loop or you've not had a chance to read 'all about it'. The stock EJ22T ECU is not tunable by Rob. He can only supply a tunable CHIP that goes into an EJ20G ECU's 'add-on' location, which must be soldered into the ECU unless you have a '7D' ECU. Rob can sell you a 'chipped' ECU...

Re: WTB vf11 or vf10

Hi, FYI , the VF10 was not installed on the USDM '91-'94 Legacy SS or TW, as some online posts state. All of them used the VF11.......as in 'period'. The VF11 is the ONLY turbo that is plug and play. Mainly due to its weird angle piping coming off the turbo to the throttle body and that 90° elbow on...
