Install Passenger turbo head only??
Since this is not a bash 'em site, hopefully y'all won't flame too much...... Can I install the EJ22T PASSENGER cylinder head ONLY on an otherwise stock EJ22e ('92 to be exact). I want the ease/convenience of the coolant/oil line access for an NA-T build. I can buy the passenger head cheap , which i...

But does it have AC? ;) Not only does it have A/C, but it has working A/C, front and rear, that's factory R134A! ;) Only working 'Ford' AC from '93, I believe....(wasn't part of the US "Ford Quality is Job 1" campaign). :-) Nice Rig...there are many of these older 'JDM' versions which are...

Clocking a VF11?
Anyone clocked the center - CHRA - of their VF11 to mount it 'upside down' for another application? I've read you must keep the oil INLET on top and OUTLET (drain) on bottom but what about clocking the Compressor and Turbine to allow it to mount to the exhaust manifold from the top vs. the bottom? C...

So is that a stock SS 4EAT replacement in there now? It was used when installed and now dying again or rebuilt?
Thanks

Re: Engine swap options, and other stupid questions.
Truth is provided above.... My .02: - Google up NA-T Ej22. For cheap thrills <$500 you can turbo the stock engine 5PSI is (relatively) safe and won't require a tune, and net you an extra 50/50....but depends on how you drive it. Ken Block imitations not withstanding. And a turbo handles CO's elevati...

HIGHLY Recommend you upgrade to the '95+ belts. Easy install and likely easier to source...plus you get rid of the auto-belt.

FWIW, no USA '94 model had a rear LSD stock...except the SVX. ...maybe yours was added/modded.

Re: 01 Outback automatic transmission options?
Ask over on https://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/ too, but if you use car-part.com it'll show you a cross-reference. Remember, that in '01+ the OB had the H6 as an option, which had a different trans - VDC/VTD - I believe. It might 'fit' but the electronics may not work w/yours...if yours is the 2.5...

Re: automatic transmission problem
Hi, As this is an '89-'94 forum, you'll want to hit up the others, like https://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum (which you may have done?). Does the AT Temp light flash or the CEL come on steady when 1st started? If so you need to get the CODES read - search online for a 'how to' on the Trans codes (TC...

Re: Ej22t swap into 93 NA legacy with Rob tune wiring
What am I missing about the wire color? Is there a reason other than 'OEM'? I did this swap years back (thanks to this site - and Josh!). I bought a 6-foot section of bulk wire harness from Home Depot that had 6 individual wires in it (had to make two runs, IIRC). Ran those for the turbo's 3 sensors...

Re: 2.5L to 2.2L swap
Just to add to Mike's most excellent info.....
.....the 2.5 to 2.2 swap is (or was as these cars are getting OLD) done A LOT due to those crappy 2.5 HG and rod bearings. Search on line and check out the https://www.ultimatesubaru.org site for LOTS of info.

Canadian Cluster Swap
1992 Canada - spec Sport Sedan Automatic. Here's what 'dscoobydoo' posted a few years back: I know the clusters did change from 91 to 92. I also know that the sedan clusters are different than Wagon and that MT is different from auto. Anyone know if the USDM is PlugnPlay w/the CDM (Canadian DM) mode...

Re: 4eat issue with a question for the seriously Subie guys
month late...Sorry..didn't see this.
'92-'94 will be a 3.9 FD ratios vs.'90-'91 4.11....so you'd need that '93's rear diff.
The'93 TCU may shift better vs. w/the '90 TCU.
