Where are you seeing options for OEM headlight assemblies? If you just need a replacement light go to a junkyard, super easy to clean up the lenses to look like new. EDM lights and/or projector retrofit are your best options for light output. If you mean bulbs then don't bother getting anything fanc...

Yup sounds like it to me. Mine was doing that too, more severe by the time I noticed, eventually it just started dying after I drove it for more than 20 minutes or so when I'd come to a stop, new alternator fixed it. Problem with plastidip is you're fairly limited in spray cans, so it gets kinda pricey if you don't do blue/red/black/white, I guess unless you wanna brush it on...
