With custom tuning on my meth kit I was able to run 22 psi on a vf39 without touching the stock fuel system or ECU. It was faster than a stock STi (straight line) as it was. I just put a larger turbo on a few days ago which sucked my turbo inlet hose shut at 22 psi to give you an idea of the airflo...

Yah, raising boost is pretty much all I want to do...sounds a bit complicated though. Maybe H20 injection is the way for me to go...

Technically, a vf22 can out-power stock STi injectors. The need for larger injectors really depends on how much boost/power you want, and what type of fuel you are going to use. DeatschWerks makes very high quality modded injectors. They have 650 and 740 CC models, and I think they even have a trade...

I am really wanting more info on Engine Management for our Legacys also. I really don't care about anything complicated. I would just like to be able to use larger injectors and raise boost accordingly with a manual boost controller.

WTB: Cheap winter wheels/tires

Just looking for an inexpensive combo. I don't care what they look like, I just want them to be in good condition (don't care about cosmetic damage) and have decent tread. They need to be able to 'drive up to the mountain' and around in the snow easily.

Thanks for the pics. I figured there would be screws @ the cup holder. Funny thing though...it won't come out all the way. Even after pusing the little 'latch' on the top. I'll have to go out there and jack around with it more later this week.

stereo removal to wire in gauges...

having trouble getting the stereo surround pieces off. I got the center console/armrest section off, and the little piece under the ash tray, but the portion that surrounds the stereo is still really on there. Any help is appreciated.

While swapping a tranny, should I do anything else?

I am putting a WRX drivetrain (minus front axles if they will fit) in a '92 SS. I am wondering, while I am in there...is there anything else I should get? Would finding a used WRX short-shifter assembly be a good idea? Any bushings, etc? Just wanna 'do it right the first time.'

He may just have to turn the steering wheel back and forth while turning the key. Sometimes the steering lock gets too much pressure on it from the column if the wheel is turn slightly when parked on a slope, etc. That would be so funny if it was just the steering lockout. I didn't even think of it.

It probably has the pretty 'standard' gearing with 5th being .738. Being an outback though, it might have a 4.11 or even 4.44 FD to make better use of the torque. That is just a semi-edumacated guess though.

Ignition stuck

I had a '94 SS that I sold. I recently got a call from the guy who bought it. Apparently the ignition is stuck. The key can be pulled in and out, but the core does not turn. Is this a common problem and how might he go about fixing it?

Just a quick question: In the compendium it lists the 2004 STi "Pink" springs -- are these referring to the JDM springs? I think so but I just wanted to verify. Thx! Actually, I would imgaine that it refers to the ones Subaru makes (under the STi nomenclature) as a performance-oriented st...

regarding using different center diffs/trannies...would it be as 'simple' as swapping the ring and pinion? Is that where the WRX 1.1:1 thing happens?

It's definitely dark. You can see in the shot above that it is not fully "black," but I am wondering if they consider that black since it is plastic.

I am pretty sure it is 4.11

I've already got the LSD/axles out of a '96 JDM STi too (which is 4.11).
