Glad to hear - I was just about to offer my advice when I got the notice you had posted a reply already. I love parts diagrams

Re: DIY HELP! - '92 EJ22 waterpump, oil pump, and cam seals?
My new question is: How do I safely remove the crank sprocket? Chilton's manual does not go into enough detail for me to feel confident trying my methods. I typically break things when forcing them apart. Glad you got the cams all sorted out. . Crank gear should pull off pretty easy. It's not press...

Re: R160 Subaru Clutch LSD with 3.70 gears Diff (ebay)
Swapping the diff isn't that difficult if you can check the backlash. Pull the retainers from the sides, remove rear diff cover, remove stub shafts and then the ring gear off the Clutch LSD. Then do the same for your stock diff (so you can retain the ratios you need). And bolt it all back together, ...

Re: DIY HELP! - '92 EJ22 waterpump, oil pump, and cam seals?
1) With the engine in the car, what is the best way to remove the cam sprockets and access the cam seals? 2) Is there a gasket for the oil pump, Or is it an o-ring style seal? A set of o-rings were provided with purchased pump. 1. Do you have access to air tools? I've been successful with just a qu...

Re: Megasquirt DIYPNP
i've been following your build as many have been. your tps signal issue intrigued me most. rather than invert the wires as previously suggested (and countered by your own reasoning), i have a bored ee customer that has already started building you an inverter circuit. i'll pm when it's bench tested...

Re: Megasquirt DIYPNP
So all i need to do is buy a DIYPNP ecu/ the nippon denso 76 pin one. Figure out the pinout of the MS because we all have the factory ecu pin out and Boom tunning time! You're making it sound much simpler than it really is, but essentially that's the idea. You'll also need to build a circuit to con...

Re: Help on a 90 Legacy
Sounds like a short. How did you "fix" your HVAC controls? Did you try and unplug the HVAC and see if it worked again?
I'm imagining that if at this point you checked your grounds at the power windows or seatbelt motors you would find that they were bad.

Re: Wagon Spoiler available on eBay
On my Impreza, I used silicone sealant from Home Depot to attach my hatch spoiler. Not sure if that's something you'd want to try, but it worked perfectly. In my case, the spoiler sits over the glass, so the silicone is actually on the glass.

Re: Megasquirt DIYPNP
Well, it's officially alive. A 10k resistor in line with the cam signal fixed my rev issue. We still need to sort out proper fueling. At the moment it will rev to about 6200 RPM, but then runs out of fuel. A base tune will make the car drivable and once we shake out the bugs, I can consider it a com...

Re: Megasquirt DIYPNP
No update yet, project was put on hold for the winter. I just changed the oil in the car and have it ready to be finished. Still dealing with the 4k RPM issue, though at this point we believe we have the resistor issue figured out. I'm currently using all stock ignition and tone wheels. Pretty confi...

Re: Center Diff and Transfer Gear Swap???
I know you can't use a phase I center diff in a phase 2 tranny. You can: http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=39306 It is possible to swap center diff's between phases as long as the corresponding tail shaft AND transfer case is used as well. That means that the main shaft from the ...

Check your knock sensor as well - if it's cracked it will be hurting performance.

Exedy P/N is KSB04. Trans is doing fine. I do my best to be easy on the launches, only launched at 4K rpm once. It's all in how you treat it. Your mileage may vary!

VERY interesting data. Here all along I always thought that the knock sensor was the same internally between all revisions. Apparently I'm wrong.
How are these sensors hooked up - what connector are you using?

I'm running a 2.5L Forester Exedy clutch in my 2.2t powered car with a 95 Impreza cable trans. Clutch pedal feel is fine and I've had 0 issues with holding power at 12PSI on a VF10 turbo. I autox and drag race the car regularly. Josh is correct about the clutch changeover in 06 for the WRX. Word on ...

Re: EJ22 automatic ECU vs. 5 speed ECu
Why would they want to modify the map signal and not the maf? Perhaps it was some way of changing boost cut? I'd be willing to be money that's what it was for. Looking at the board, there's a potentiometer there ( the blue rectangle on the right side of the aftermarket PCB). A lot of "DIY"...

It would have to be a turbo car - Only the turbo transmissions would accept a WRX clutch.

I had a 05 WRX transmission and VF8 turbo in my Legacy. The gearing was perfect, and the turbo was large enough that it wouldn't spool up unless you were trying. I averaged about 30mpg. Compare that to my other setup - Legacy outback trans with a VF10 turbo. 70mph is getting close to 3500rpm and the...
