Re: HVAC controls not working all the time
If it's only the A/C that is not working correctly I would check the joints, but if the A/C randomly goes off and on I would suspect the thermo switch.

They look really nice, I wonder $129 as a starting price I would like a max guess also.

Re: I need flywheel advice
I personally have all my flywheels resurfaced with .020 step out on the edge. The main reason is the clutch last longer and you have a little more clamping power. It will work with out the step also, it's more of a preference I think.

Re: 92 subaru legacy hesitation on accel, blows smoke
I would check the turbo to see if it's leaking oil internally, that could kill the O2 sensor and cats.

Re: Drivetrain issues?
The rear diff is an open diff and is should act that way. There is a center diff toward the rear of the transmission that causes exactly what your describing. One way to test it is: under the hood on the passenger side firewall there is a fuse holder that says (FWD), place a fuse in it and see if it...

Re: Legacy wagon 92 door compatibility
All doors are interchangeable between 90-94, the only deference on the rear is sedans and wagons have different door glass. The doors them self are the same.

Re: WRX Struts with stock legacy springs?
I believe the front springs are the same, I've swapped them on both but on 90-91 struts will give you the lowest stock parts combo.
Yes the perch is lower on 90-91 but uses the same top hats as almost every Subaru from 90-04.

Re: Odd no start issue
It sounds like a bad connection, either at the battery or bad ground. Starter wouldn't cause the power loss even if the wire was off the starter you would still have power to everything. I know you cleaned the terminals but it sounds like you have non stock battery cables end or ends and where the w...

Re: WRX Struts with stock legacy springs?
I know you have more tire clearance on the 92-94 because I have changed my 90 over and with 205/55/16 the tires would slightly rub the spring perch and not with 92-94. I swapped 92-94 rear struts on my sisters 91 with her tapered springs and her rear is about 1 1/2 inches higher than stock. If you l...

Re: WRX Struts with stock legacy springs?
The 92-94 struts with 91 springs will raise the rear not lower it, 90-91 spring is taller. Also the spring perch on 92-94 is 3/4 inch higher not lower. If you want to drop the rear you need 90-91 struts with 92-94 springs and top hats.

The insurance adjuster will lowball you, don't take the first offer. You need to convince him that you can't replace the car for what he is giving you, which will be around $1000 if you are lucky. I always get listings and print them off to show value of my car and all receipts for any engine or tra...

Re: VLSD Failure? AKA The Clunk From Hell
I know you've changed some bushings but no mention of the outrigger bushing. I've had issues with mine in the past and sounds exactly what mine was doing. I did change mine but that's not why it was making noise, it was the bracket that you bolt on was bent. I did it from jacking the car right on th...

Re: CODE 33 AND 52
I know 33 will effect the way autos shift and the cruise control won't work. Check the speedometer cable to make sure it's spinning, the most common failure is the adapter that screws in the transmission and connects to the cable.

I've have gotten 5 alternaterd in a row that lasted less than 90 days for my wife's car. They were all different brands also reman and new. So it possible the contacts in that starter not lining up properly with the plunger and a switch is not going to fix that. I would find a used oem over a reman ...

Re: Clunking noise when taking off in first
They do have replacements, I have the part # I will have to dig it up. I have one on my car and you can grease it. It's better if a driveline specialist change it since they are staked in.

Re: Clunking noise when taking off in first
I would check the U joints especially the front one and it is easer to check with the driveline out. I've had two fail and was hard to check when it was in the car.

Buy bigger tires, I'm not sure if there is a way to adjust or change the gear. I found if I changed to 195/70/14 on my wife's and 205/55/16 my speedo is closer.
