if it is rubbing the spring or strut, you can install spacers to decrease the backspacing. this will move the wheel out. I'm not sure how much luck youll have finding spacers for subaru though. Maybe some wrx site has them. I think that will look cool, knobbier tires go well on a subaru.

rear top mounts

On a 91 wagon can these be swapped for later legacy tops, allowing the fitment of eibach or h&r's? I may decide to go the lowering spring route after all. what are the part #'s I would need to convert to a non-tapered spring?

with a softer suspension is fatigue of the actual swaybar an issue? or do the bushings provide a weak link?

looks like it's gonna be chilton's. I don't really wanna mess around with the subaru one, if its full of tool numbers and mumbo jumbo. my friend has a chilton's for his 626 and he likes it pretty well.

Stiffer springs just in the front? if there are stiffer springs other than lowering springs, what are they? are there other models of legacy that the suspension corresponds to my 91 wagon? I have heard about some combo of legacy springs and gc8 strut bearings, is this a viable option?

so can I get the dealer to honor this? I have no idea if this has already been done to my car. So I would have a stronger e-brake?

no...

I guess I should have been more clear. I have an automatic  and am inquiring about a tranny fluid made by B&M. I know short shifters are great in a manual trans.

What do you mean down where your Auto can use it? Suby autos shift based on throttle position... I visit redline frequently for mine. as for the carbon buildup, you can get a water spray bottle, and lightly spray into the intake with the motor running. the water steam cleans the combustion chamber. ...

quickshift?

has anyone on here put quickshift shift improver in their tranny? I'm considering this, but have also heard that it wears out the clutshes prematurely... any thoughts?

so can I fill a little more tranny fluid in without risking blowing a seal? Some of my friends who are into 4x4ing overfill slightly to compensate when they are at a steep angle. those are strong chevy trannys though...
anyone think the subaru seals can take it?

I guess I'm looking for less body roll, more neutral handling, although its not all that bad right now. thanks for the suggestion on the gr2's, I'm gonna get some of those soon. I was thinking about it, and maybe I'll spring for the lowering springs when I've got the dough. Ive got a rabbit gti proj...

geez, noone has anything to say? come on... Im at least going to do a 5mt swap. tranny needs rebuild, but wouldn't an actual engine at the same time be nice? these cars are not exactly leight weight. I, also am in the market for these bushings. I have seen energy suspension bushings, but they are money... like 30 bucks just for the sway bar endlinks. STI is probably even worse. anyone have an opinion on stock vs. poly? I dont want to spend 2 bills on new bushings. why do they charge so much? the...

too ricey. scrap metal wing, overdone front bumper. most rice rockets can be described in one word: overdone. Its a shame, hondas are good cars with great engines and suspensions. its their owners who are the problem. It's good that subarus are not generally within the "tuner" scheme. I've...

swaps!

wow that is cool! I have read an article about a gentleman taht put a ej22t into his porsche 914. the biggest problem was how to route the cooliong system. A few sandrails have suby engines too. I guess kennedy engineering makes an adaptor for just about every enginne there is.

buy or swap?

I have a 91 AT wagon and its pretty lethargic. its completely stock, with the exception of wrx rims and some rally mudflaps. the transmission may be close to dead. Is it worth it to swap a turbo engine and trans, or should I just buy a turbo car? turbos have the nicer interior, body, and suspension....

stiffen me up without lowering

Does any companies make stiffer springs for my 91 4wd wagon that do not lower, or lower slightly? I'd like a firmer ride but need the height for my driveway. I do not want to get those lift springs. (why lift a car? you might as well just get an suv or truck) However, if they are stiffer, they can b...

My first post on this board!

Hey fellas, I have a 91 legacy wagon with automatic and 4wd. Lately it has been slow to shift into reverse. when I shift into reverse, it will not engage immediately, and will rev up and then catch. any ideas? tranny fluid looks ok.
thanks,
jeremy
