Any real reason to remove resonator?
Are there any performance benefits from removing the resonator? I have a 2003 legacy with the 2.5 L. I have already tossed in a K & N filter. What else would be easy to do to improve the intake?
I've done the resonator removal, and I've seen a small amount of performance increase in the upper rpms. It really isn't that noticable, some may argue, though. I'd say it is worth it. It doesn't take long to do and it doesn't hurt anything. Try it out for yourself. I have turbo, so I don't know how it reacts to a n/a car. Look up the posts about it. There has been lots of talk on this subject.

Yes it's worth it. It will give your intake a much more aggresive sound too. And take the big ass resonator that's right off the TB out if you can.

I would say go for it. I took a two stage approach with my turbo wagon:
1. Add K&N
(shake vigorously for a day)
2. Remove intake silencer & route tube from fog light hole to airbox.
Maybe it is just the ECU adjusting to both modifications, but I noticed a bigger difference with the silencer removal. The car doesn't pull all that much harder, but the turbo seems to spool up earlier. YMMV.
PS - If you're not satisfied with the results, you can always re-install it.

although it lacks the ability to be converted easily back to stock, i would reccomend installing a 1 inch pvc check valve to the dirty side of the intake box rather than removing the resonator. Then you can make it loud or quiet with the twist of a knob.
