TPS resistance readings - is this bad?

Post by macipusy »

I checked the Ohms on my TPS vs FSM and they are as follows:

No2-No3 - FSM 12 kOhms, TPS reading 9 kOhms
No2-No4 - closed - FSM 10-12 kOhms, TPS reading 8.56 kOhms
No2-No4 - open - FSM 3-5 kOhms, TPS reading 1.82 kOhms

What kind of issues would this cause. I've been having idle issues and stalling / no start issues.

Do I just adjust it, or replace it?

Those are close to the readings. The only thing you can or should adjust the TPS to is the idle closed switch.

Thanks for the tip....I checked it and it was within specs. I also doublechecked other TPS sensors on extra Tleg manifolds I had lying around, and they both were close to my original readings.

What type of gauge do you have? I was able to get it inserted to do the measurements

The gauge should stay by itself with the force of the TB plate springing back shut. You need to use the tiny feeler gauges.
