Thanks!

I had seen that vid prior to cleaning it, I was just too lazy to de-assemble the whole thing. Pouring straight into the hose seems to work, it did wonders, and I wonder if I shouldn't do it again!? Just afraid of blowing a gasket by high reving it.

Also when I did some reasearch on this website, someone said they would just do it manually, by pouring the seafoam and turning the valve by hand, and let all the crap flow through the pcv.

I always wonder when using seafoam how much crap gets back into the system...

Can anyone tell me what kind of gasket i need for an ej22t Idle air control valve. I cant find one for the turbo anywhere. Is it the same as a non turbo?

-I believe the n/a iac and gasket are different from a turbo iac and gasket. I would just go to or call a Subaru dealership and ask them. They still have them cause I just got one a couples months back here in Denver.

The gaskets are the same between the turbo & non-turbo.

The diaphragm is what is different when it comes to the IACV. On the turbo model it is present to stop boost from going into the IACV. On non turbo, the diaphragm isn't there.

Edit, I think.

CJ, you're correct the diaphragm is not there on the non-turbo models.

well I finally remove toe whole unit and cleaned it...should have done that 3years earlier really, didnt have to replace any gasket it was actually really easy, the valve was all black and sticky inside....makes a world of a difference really. I think it was also messing up the tps on the other hand, which I just replaced anyway with a junk yard part....

So dont be lazy like me remove the damn thing and spray it till you can see the different metal colors inside! I think I this has cause me to rev up my car too high over the years and now seems like I have a bad lifter....gotta research that now...
