Intake Help!

Post by Subi-swap94 »

So guys, I have a issue and I'm hoping one of you guys can lead me in the right direction.
so you know the black intake hose that goes from the Air cleaner to the turbocharger?
well mine is old and its starting to crack. So im on the look out for another one but if possible better shape.
but i blew the hose off the other day and i went to put it back into place when i got home and i went to start the car. It will run for a good 10-15 seconds then it will die, and now my check engine light is on. I'm at a loss, anything will help

pull the codes http://legacycentral.org/library/literature/codes.htm

make sure you didnt accidentally disconnect the hoses when fiddling with the intake tubing.

It is very possible you aren't getting a good seal and it is pulling air after the maf. They don't like that. Not too clear on exactly which hose you are talking about as there are actually two. Both are 90 degree elbows on either side of the resonator box. The 90 at the turbo is subject to alot of heat and gets real hard and then it doesn't want to seal well. If it is that one I would just get a new one.

Now that it's put all back together, it will run really rough
And it won't stay running longer than 15 seconds. Now my check engine light is on.
I'm at a complete loss.

I don't have a code reader and my car won't run long enough to get to one.
