EJ22t fuel rails same as EJ20?

Post by BoostedSubie »

With my new build, I plan on doing away with the whole metal fuel line to rail setup and using SS lines with AN fittings in a parallel setup. I found adapters that bolt on to the factory rails but have threaded inlet/outlets for use of the AN fittings but they are for the GC Imprezas. I'm 99% sure the 20g rails and 22t are the same but wanted to make sure before I buy these. I also found full billet fuel rails for the GC that come with -6 SS lines, adj. FPR that I may end up getting instead of just the adapters. I'm using the STI 550cc yellow injectors by the way. Thanks

My EJ20G are not at the same as EJ22T or EJ22E rails. My EJ20G rails are one piece with the fuel line on one side. So I was not able to unbolt them and use EJ22E NA rails and had to order an injector adapter kit to fit STI 525s.

Thats what i was afraid of. I thought i remembered my buddies EJ20 had the same setup as mine. Are the rails bolted to the manifold in the same places? I'm thinking i may just buy the full fuel rail kit for the gc if it bolts up the same.

Yeah that rails themselves bolt up the same. I was pissed. Bought some NA rails and went to swap them out and found out the stupid EJ20G rails only unbolted from one end. What's the point in that!? Haha.

Easy fix: http://www.carldavey.co.uk/product.php?id=2

Less than $50 shipped. Great guy and he makes solid quality products.

So you're using the EJ22T rails and you want to either replace them altogether or just replace the fuel lines and use those AN fittings? For some stupid reason I thought you had EJ20G rails and lines and were trying to upgrade them. I think there may be different versions of the EJ20G rails but I'm not sure. I would bet those AN fittings will fit EJ22T rails but maybe someone else can confirm.

Yeah, i was wanting to keep the na EJ22 rails for use with the sti injectors but am doing away with the metal delivery lines and going with AN SS lines in parallel. I reversed my manifold and the metal lines are a pain, also going parallel should keep an even fuel flow to all injectors.

These are one of the fuel rails i was looking at. There don't seem to be as many options for side feed injectors

Kimo's talking about the ej20k style ej20g rails. I had a complete ej20k manifold that was the same way. The rails that came on my ej20g intake (95-96 ish) did unbolt and were interchangeable with the 22t ones, but not the same.

As long as they bolt to the manifold the same and the injector spacing is the same, it should work then buying the aftermarket EJ20 rails hopefully.
