Vacuum Hoses?

Post by devilzdriver »

I was driving home today from the gym, and well wen i was going WOT the car was sputtering, or maybe a better way to describe it. It was not smooth power, coming back home i see some hoses are old and frail, so i assume if i replace all my Vac lines, my car will be more or less smooth when WOT? Also, since i am looking at replacing all my Vac lines, where should i get them? I was thinking silicone, where have you guys had the best luck? I don't want crazy ass colors. Black is what im aiming for keeping my cars engine bay as low profile as possible. Thanks Gang!

If you have some leaking vacuum hoses, that might help. Are you having any other issues or problems with how the car runs? Do you have a boost/vacuum gauge? If so, what's your vacuum reading at idle?

When i first start the car sometimes idle is about 2k, or when im driving and i shift it will be at 2500 RPM and then it fixes its all good? I do have a Boost gauge but i totally forgot what the readings are at idle i will have to check it out tomorrow. if i am not mistaken all the vac. lines are 3.5mm? Thanks

The boost/vacuum line coming from the 3rd intake runner in a smaller diameter and then bumps up in size. The other turbo boost lines should all be the same size.

Is that line going to need to be picked up from the local dealer?

You can replace it with generic vacuum hose if you'd like. The only difference between the lines from the dealer and generic stuff is that it's form fitted (pre bent).

If you want to get them from Subaru my recommendation is to order them from one of the online Subaru dealers. www.subarugenuineparts.com www.subaruparts.com www.1stsubaruparts.com
