SVX IAC work on EJ22?

Post by wtdash »

The SVX has the right-angled hard line that might work better with a turbo install.

Anyone know if they'll work w/the '90-'98 EJ22/EJ25 ECU?

Interesting that it appears to mount on its side under the TB of the EG33:

That's an interesting idea!

I don't think I've seen anyone try and use it on the EJ series engines. It doesn't have the lines for the coolant so not sure how that would affect cold idle...if at all.

I would think the electrical part would be the same as the EJ22 counterpart so I think the ECU would be ok seeing it. It might need to be adjusted/calibrated by turning/adjusting the top electrical part.

However, based on where the piping is pointing I don't know if it's going to be any easier/better of a hook up location.

Hi Josh,
I usually bypass the coolant lines w/out issue (rarely below 0°F here)- but for the midwest and north of 49° - they may need it.

And the piping orientation is kinda/sorta/notsomuch similar to an EJ20G's (straight down)but still looks to be in the 'busy' area near the turbo - BUT would also like to know if it can be rotated?

I'd guess that it's 'pressed in' however that's done, so maybe with some heat and persuasion it could be rotated.

Thanks

Yeah, if you can do it would likely require heating up the body of the valve. I'm assuming the pipe is pressed in before rotary valve and bearing are put in. So if you do put heat on it I would be careful to not get it too hot to damage any seals or bearings.
