This is what I am talking about on the gc8 mirror change. Since I re-used my original housings on my SS I don't have a pic. If someone has a pass housing they can post that would be great.

These are the two different styles of mirrors between the Impreza.

The more squarish design should match the first gen Legacy.

The internals of the mirror (mirror adjustment motors and folding motor) will fit into my stock Legacy housing and function when wired up?

Yes I think those mirrors should be of the same shape. I couldn't tell you about the guts and I do know the mirror switch is different between the Impreza and Legacy.

Yup. I have a set of the folding mirrors with switch. The switch from a GC won't work.
