oh yeah, i am thinking of having my friend make me a custom gauge pod for right under the ashtray. i also was going to do a custom single a-pillar pod. all together, 3 gauges, autometer boost, egt & a/f.

I searched for them on a few gauge sites at least a year and a half ago, i think i found one on autometer, but i can't remember for sure. I'd think that they'd still be available from Japanese and Australian outlets.

custom gage pods

Post by magicmike »

Hello,
I own a 94 wagon, I am currently rebuilding it but when complete I will be designing and building a custom fiberglass guage cluster pod. I will have a mold of this and will be able to spit them out for all you guys out there who want one (at a resonable price of course). I'll post some pics and some pricing when I get that far. I was in the custom car stereo business for almost 10 years so I have plenty of experience with custom fiberglass mods to interiors of cars. I'll keep you all posted as I make progress.

Yeah, that'd be awesome to replace my crappy Autometer gauge cup. How many gauges would this be for?

custom gauges

Post by magicmike »

The number of gauges will vary. I don't know yet because I dont have any gauge setup in mind. I plan to see where the best possible ergonomical place would be for the gauges. I can tell you this much, it will be custom. I'll have a mold of the "one" I made but I'm sure with a little convincing ($$$) I can modify my design for more or less gauges. Once again. I'll keep you posted. Just a thought......if I can get a hand on some digital LED gauges I'll try and squeeze them into the rear view mirror...now thats trick!

I'd like to mount 3 - 2 1/16" guages. Boost/Oil Pressure/Voltmeter.
If you're thinking of making a 3 guage pod I'd be interested in ordering one. Have you thought of $$$$ ?

I'd like to see a two pod pillar. Three gauges just seems too busy. Even a single gauge pod would be great.

I's like to see a two guage pod that goes into that little key holder on the bottom of the center console (in front of the shifter). But only 89-92 had them large enough for any guages.
