wagon rear upper seat belt anchor removal
Can anyone provide direction on how to remove the upper rear seatbelt anchor on a wagon, please? It seems like it's anchored to the bottom part of the headliner. Thanks!

Care to share what you found out, so others know if they have a similar issue.

Re: wagon rear upper seat belt anchor removal
Sure!
At first glance, it may seem that the vinyl/rubber sleeve has no way of coming off. But if you go to the very top of the sleeve you can pull the top part of the sleeve away from the seat belt anchor and bolt. This is the part that is above the trim piece and seems to rest on the headliner. I used a trim tool that has a bent claw tip. Just slide it behind the sleeve (between the sleeve and headliner), find the edge of the sleeve and pull it toward you over the seat belt anchor, grab hold of it with your other hand, and pull just enough to expose the seat belt anchor bolt. You will have to bend the sleeve to fit a socket behind it but the sleeve will not crease (at least mine didn't). Don't be an animal and yank it down hard because the back side of the sleeve completely surrounds the seat belt and you may end up tearing the sleeve.
Have ready a 19mm socket and ratchet and perhaps a rubber mallet or 2x4 to whack the ratchet to crack the bolt free.
This part of the seat belt needs to be removed if you want to remove the trim piece that is partially under it. And, with the trim piece removed, it is so much easier to remove the headliner.
*Edited to correct misspelling.
