Hey folks, any help you can give would be appreciated but I'll warn you in advance that I'm a novice when it comes to repair, so bear with me please. My driver's side automatic seat belt is not being triggered when the door is closed. It's not stuck on the track, but remains in the "open" position, and at a previous point it did trigger off and on quite randomly every time the door closed. This began to occur about the same time I noticed the rubber boot/bumper disappeared off what I believe is the door jamb switch, and/or the entire door jamb switch was lost.
Does the door jamb switch trigger the automatic seat belt or is it just for the courtesy/dome lights??? If so, this should be an easy fix... the junkyard is my friend.

Re: Automatic Seat Belt not being triggered...
The seat belt is triggered by the door latch, I would check the switch and wiring in the door.

Re: Automatic Seat Belt not being triggered...
Well that narrows it down a bit. My stepfather did extensive wiring in that car a few times so I don't doubt something was either messed up or has since developed issues.

Re: Automatic Seat Belt not being triggered...
I had an issue with my trigger not being pressed in all the way. Kept showing on the dash that my door wasn't shut. I took a small square of cardboard and glued it on the door where it meets the trigger and the light hasn't come back on.

Welcome to the BBS.
Does the seat belt light in the dash flash? If so, I would recommend check the auto seat belt computer to see what it says may be the problem.

Here is the wiring diagram for the auto seat belt system. This is for the 90 model year. The 92-94 model years may be slightly different, but this will give you an idea of how things are setup.
